Sold out so far in advance, I had tried to get tickets for a QF since August of last year and failed in four different rounds to get them.
So much for the phrase football is people sport. Just out of curiosity, how much does the ticket cost for a group game and the for sf or final?

Depends on the tier and whether you're a local. There are Brazilian-only seats with Brazilian-only prices, as they did in South Africa.

For the rest, I think the three tiers of seats for group games were typically around $120-250 USD. SF I know is up to about $250-$660 USD. And the final you can probably double the SF prices.

That's the retail right? I guess for such a demand it's not that big price, but they do resell the tickets right? I wonder how much those cost.

Retail: meaning, the best price you're gonna get -- unless someone's mother just died and they have to unload them at the last minute. I believe FIFA has created a system with named tickets with passport IDs so that even the resale process needs to go through their servers (even if the exchange of money does not).

In 2010 I managed to get awesome Tier 1 seats for the Netherlands-Uruguay SF right above the locker room tunnel exit for $875 each only a month in advance of the match. Retail price was $600.

Retail price for the same in 2014 is $660, and a couple months ago I saw ticket sites already selling them for $1500 apiece.

When I found that the hotel/places-to-stay situation was even worse than the match tickets, I bailed.

We were discussing going to Brazil for the World Cup on our honeymoon. Then we saw the hotel stay alone would be $4000.

Needless to say we will go to Brazil via a bar in Antigua.

I got a ticket to the round-16 game, Winner of Italy's group (hopefully Italy), against runner-up of Group C.

Noob question... Are all the tickets to the World Cup games, including the knock out games, sold in advance? Or do you have to wait till the group stages are over to get the knock out tickets?
Sold in advance, and all sold out.

Congrats on the wedding big man!

I got a good discount on that one, it came down to only 49 bucks. For a Nike official? They only had like 3 left at the store, i HAD to get it.

If Brazil wins and adds another star i'll wait for next year's Copa América shirt. :klin:
