so who will become Germany captain now?
Schweinsteiger, if he keeps on playing.
He's already missed all of the friendly games and a lot of the qualifiers due to injuries.

If not him, then I'd say either Hummels or Khedira.
Hummels has the composure to do so and Khedira's a leader within the team and was the captain of the U-21 team that won the european championships in 2009.

Muller or Neuer before those two IMO

 1972 started their dominance and later on Germany is the most consistent and successful NT in the world, not only Europe.
But they're "underdogs" and weren't expected to win anything for the past 18 years before this WC... :andyandbarcelona:

Isnt the guy with the highest # of caps the captain at the national team ?

Oh, and please remove belgium from a potential winner list. We are born chokers, led by the great example of our coach

Müller's 24 years of age and not a captain type of player.
He's more of a buddy and funny dude but not the guy with the captains armband.

Neuer could be an option but I don't really like a goalkeeper as the captain.

Also, Löw said before the tournament that he'd only select players that are fit and that he only made an exception for Khedira because of his standing in the squad.

And Hummels would be my pick given that he's our best defender and has the composure to represent the team.

Isnt the guy with the highest # of caps the captain at the national team ?
That happened before but Löw went against it the last time around, when he named Lahm the captain and Schweinsteiger vice-captain instead of the Miro Klose, who had the hightest # of caps.

wasnt one of them (Neuer or Muller) the captain in a friendly not so long ago? also, from the current players that are sure starters, only Bastian (and Ozil but he could be benched when Reus returns) are longer in the NT so its only logical that one of them takes the armband, sooner or later...

Man, Lahm's only 30. He could easily play in 2018 and still kill it.

Best fullback of all time. :delpiero:

Been a pleasure watching him represent Germany. There's still CL left so no biggie.
