They had three really good chances, that's more than what Italy had vs Costa Rica.

Yep, Iran were fabulous, especially in the last 30 mins. Deserved at least a draw IMO. And had a perfectly good penalty denied.

More than a few "professional fouls" he didn't get carded for. That's one of the defender's equivalents of the offensive dive when it comes to football cheating.

They weren't. Their best possible outcome was to park the bus and get a point and then give it their all vs Bosnia. And they almost pulled it off bar for that piece of brilliance by Messi. Arguably the worst squad in the world cup keeping some of the best attackers in the world at bay for 90 minutes, that shit was impressive.

Meh. I have nothing against respecting your opposition and defending as a unit considering your superior opposition, but there has to be a certain limit and awareness to attack your opponent until it gets hopeless and boring. I was happy when they conceaded.

Russia vs Belgium might be interesting. Also US vs Portugal seems decent, because of Portugal mostly, they'll give their all to get back into race for that 2nd spot; Americans are simply dreadfully untalented so I predict trashing.

I think Belgium got dis, but I was terrible at predicting outcomes last few days. There's arguably more quality in their side, but also we've seen till now that even the biggest underdogs can pull an upset. All I'm hoping for is a great match, last night Germany vs Ghana was mouth-watering and I'd like to see more of that kind of football, simply was a joy to watch.
