When the first cross came in when Spain scored, Iniesta was in an offside position, should he not of been called offside due to the ball being intended for him. Hence making him active?
No, not at all. If I intend a 40 yard ball for a player who is offside but it hits a guy 3 yards from me and deflects back, the original player it was intended for isn't offside.

I see. Just many grey areas in the offside rule.

Entertaining game, despite the lack of goals (there is more to football than goals)

Holland played their cards well by showing the aggressiveness the Germans lacked. They could have won it had they used their golden opportunities better. (flick the ball Robben... NOOO) Still, both sides deserved to hold the score to 0-0. Holland successfully neutralised the Spanish attack for most of the game and Cassillas has been decisive to say the least.

Also what Spain lacked in a good tactical plan, they won through sheer brilliance and quality in the players. Iniesta alone says it all. He forced the Dutch to make mistake after mistake in trying to stop him and well, that goal couldn't have been better.

But a part of me died in knowing that this Spain could have played much, much better throughout the whole world cup with such players. The gubbilion 1-0 results they got through this whole tournament don't do justice to what such a talented squad could have achieved instead.

Ah well, they deserved their win still. Too bad for the ref.
Seriously? :sergio:

The Barca players in Spain have sick physical condition. We must put a spy there and see how they're training.
Barca create athletes. Juve do not. We used to though. One of our biggest strengths.

The Holland players do complain about the corner kick on Dutch tv, but all in all they're definitely not crybabies. They congratulate Spain and say they deserved it. They complain more about poor refereeing than about that refereeing influencing the game really. Their reactions so far have been pretty nice IMO.

Iniesta was sick with Barca this season and barely even played. Yet with Spain he came back to his 08/09 season form.

It's the players themselves who are well, brilliant regardless of training methods they already are quality.
