The problem is that everyone has been saying we're in South-Africa for only one thing: Winning the WC.

Now players say we want to win the thing and they're really optimistic, but they have been since day one. They said the same things before the Brazil game, saying how they assume to play again the week after.

Nobody noticed those comments then, but now we're playing Uruguay it's arrogance. Meh, it's how it goes.
The problem is not the players or the coach IMO. Van Marwijk in particular has been very cautious and he's doing an outstanding job in keeping the players down to earth.

So the players say they want to win it, going for it, assuming to play the final on Sunday, and that's fine.

The fans, when asked, say we're going to win it, with a huge smile, or laughing, and it's arrogance?

I agree that Van Marwijk has been excellent so far.

IMHO I don't think it's arrogant from the Dutch this time around. If you look at their team and if you look at the relative weakness of the teams still in the World Cup, they stand a real chance. They got very lucky against Brazil, who were the best side this year, but now that they've come this far I don't think anyone could blame the fans for wanting to win it all.

But the oranje hype can be quite the burden for the players. As for me.. well.. I can't like anyone who gets drunk on Heineken :D. What a shit beer. Like I've said before though, I think I want Holland to win. Jan Mulder would be priceless.

Ken, who will replace De Jong and Van der Wiel?
Boulahrouz seems the only real option to replace Van der Wiel, but who will replace De Jong is a bit of a mystery. There's a lot of players who could play there, but knowing Van Marwijk, he'll probably go with De Zeeuw. He's the 'safe' option, where everybody is crying for a better footballer, like Afellay.

I don't like Heineken either, just to clear that up. Here, in the very South-East we drink Brand or just German beer, much better. ;)

Van der Wiel is one hell of a player by the way. Especially now he doesn't Twitter anymore.
He's overrated as hell, just copied Dani Alves his style of being a RB (which I can understand 1. Dani Alves is good 2. He's a Barca fanboy) The guy can't cross, and is quite predictable. He won't be any good in Serie A. He is like a Grosso but than on the right.

Dani Alves is the lesser player though.

How did they get lucky against Brazil?

And on what grounds to you claim Brazil to br the best team this year?

Ow come on. Could easily have been 3-0 down at halftime and they got away with a reckless challenge in the box. Then they didn't look like a threat at all in the second half, until Melo decided to selfdestruct.
