Inter’s Wesley Sneijder has been declared a prime candidate for the new FIFA Ballon d’Or. “He turns everything into gold,” wrote France Football.

It was announced today that the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards will be combined into one trophy to be assigned in January.

Having won the Champions League, Serie A title and Coppa Italia with Inter, Sneijder is in the World Cup semi-final with Holland.
