i been thinking about this since the england game...

U think Germany would have been as good if Ballack were playing? I mean in the sense that his presence may have hindered some of the younger players from expressing themselves more as they may have felt constrained by his presence and wanting to dictate the game for them (ala Henry in his last 2 seasons at arsenal when the younger players felt compelled to give him the ball instead of playing their game)

We'd be nowhere that good if Ballack would've been playing. I'm thankful that KP Boateng took him out. Never liked him and never rated him high. The only thing he did was walking next to the game and kick somones bones when he gets frustrated. This way we are more mobile, flexible and creative.

I think it may be that on a good day, Germany are better without Ballack.

However, time will tell if they can grind out a result in a tight game when they aren't playing brilliantly as well as they could with him in the team.

What did Ballack do for this team? What do we need him for?
