It's just not fair towards the smaller tournaments. I don't really care for example as my country will never ever play in the World Cup nor they will ever be unfairly treated to miss on a World Cup.
You can use all these systems in every first division of every country. Don't get me wrong, it's unfortunate that my team will not be able to benefit, but I think it would vastly improve the quality of these World Cups.

Germany probably would have beaten England, but that goal could have changed so so much.

Well, the people who comment World Cups or EUROs here are usually some who won at the biggest stage, who played for the biggest clubs or coached the biggest clubs and the greatest players in the world and who know the game more than someone who was refereeing all his life in the Syrian league and who was representing a continent that in 1986 hardly had football.
Ya but they're not international referees who have refereed in 3 World Cups, they are normal football analysts. They need to be compared to Al-Jazeera's football analysts.

Are they as good as Wenger, Sachi, Altobelli, Cesare Maldini, Aragones, Pekerman, De Boer, Matthaus and Bebeto?

No, they're not. They're probably some unknown players from some Eastern European country that nobody is interested to listen to and that work for a channel that probably nobody has heard of unlike the worldwide brand which is Al-Jazeera.

I hear Colina wanted to comment there but he didn't stand a chance against this Syrian football expert.

He's not a football expert he's a referee expert. They also have Abu-Jsaim btw, who was one of the best referees in the world in the late 90's.

For football experts, i already mentioned the names before.

They're still better than a referee from Syria.

Fred, SYRIA!

One of these coaches was proclaimed the best coach of all time by Gazzetta dello sport and was the teacher of half those you mentioned in your post.
Unlike the guy from SYRIA.

Do they have a league in Syria?

OK, here's watching the match from the Cape Town FIFA Fan Fest, about a mile a way from the stadium action and with Table Mountain in the background as sunset approaches.

I haven't seen you mention any names yet, is it because they are probably unknown?

Anyway, show me how much WC games your referee handled before i even consider taking him seriously. Don't forget Bu-Jsaim the guy who refereed the semi final between Holland - Brazil in 98.

Who is this supposedly good coach?? I doubt he's anything compared to Wenger or Aragones.

Busacca is from Switzerland, his country are shit at football, but he's a great referee.

This was pretty cool. A tapas restaurant called Cafe Sofia was literally projecting the broadcast of Spain vs. Paraguay on the building across the street...

So you're judging a ref based on where he's coming from despite the fact that he took part in three world cups where he never had a questioned call but rather impressed there? That's idiotic to say the least.

You judge a person by his success not by that of his country. I could go on about Croatian refs and how corrupt both them and their league is and it would make much more sense since it's fuckin related to the quality of the refs coming from the league. But to say that a 3rd world country couldn't bring out geniuses or any worthy person for that matter is retarded.

The unknown players are players who won the CL (Boban, Prosinecki, Suker) the unknown coaches are Blazevic, Bilic and Tomislav Ivic. The Croatian referees will never stand a chance to officiate in a World Cup because their European colleagues from the big leagues or from the EU are superior to them and will always be preferred to them. If Croatia was in Asia, I am pretty sure that we'd have had our referees at World Cups, just like we had them until 1990 when Yugoslavia was one country. If Syria was in Europe, the most they'd officiate will be the UEFA Cup qualifications in July.

And Switzerland is a special case. You should know that. They are like Germany, Italy and France into one. Always preferred to others in everything. Plus, their league isn't weak, nor is their NT. It's actually better than any middle-eastern NT.

Well technically Croatia and most of those Eastern European countries are third world countries too :seven:

Egypt is much better than Switzerland for sure.

None of those players or coaches mean much when we're talking about world class coaches like Aragones, Sachi and Wenger.

FIFA is bound to pick referees from all continents and that's why the refereeing is much poorer in the world cup rather than in the CL/EUROs.

An Asian referee being selected to officiate in the world cup only means that he is one of the best referees in Asia. By no means does it mean that he is actually among the 30 best refs in the world who are being selected to officiate in the world cup.
