Impressive from Germany, even if I give more credit to their performance than the scoreline, which inevitably became one sided as an Argentina with a lot of skill and no solidity just fell apart. At 1-0 I thought it was a pretty even game but Germany still looked more like scoring, Argentina overplayed a little bit. Germany might have some younger players but they still play like the machine of old. Not too many outstanding players, but always the same in tournaments, they know how to play it and unless they concede goals from nothing then they often have a plan.

Of course, both against Korea because Portugal didn't score against Ivory Coast, Brazil and Spain.

Yep, he winged it through the tournament based on his superior players and a couple of breaks, when it came to doing a bit of thinking he really didn't have an idea. Looking at Otamendi on the second Germany goal, it makes you laugh how Zanetti wasn't even in the squad.

That's not how you compare things. It's not a stats match. Germany are more of a complete team than Argentina. Even with 10 Zanetti's they were going to get raped.

And, if things go as expected, there should be more incoming talent in the near future.
Afterall, they won all youth tournaments, from u-17, u-19 to u-21. The u-21 guys already made their appearance (Ozil, Boateng, Khedira are stars of the senior team now, while Beck, Hummels, Aogo etc will certainly get their place) while the u-19 and u-17 guys will soon get a chance to show if they can continue as they started.
