Behrami lashed out against the player. It did not have much force, but the intent was still there. I guess it has to be a red.
Oh please. He was shielding the ball. If that's a red card, you can send people off for just about anything.

That you use amateur refs in the World Cup and at the same time are hesitant to use video replay says it all.

You didn't see him throw his elbow back at the defender? That wasn't shielding the ball, he was lashing out against the player. He didn't make clean contact with the guy's face but the intent to injure was still there.

I'd rather have seen a yellow for the game's sake but I can see why it was given.

Come on, it was extremely harsh.

Basically you get amateur refs, you don't allow video replay and you play with a volleyball.

Could they make the game anymore random?

I tried to go to sleep at 10:30 last night to be fresh for this game but rolled around in bed for 2.5hrs so I finally gave in and stayed up until 3 am and that did it :sergio:

Know where I can catch the replay?
ESPN Classic is also airing the matches later I believe.

BLOOM! Behrami sent off.
Really harsh, even if the guy was acting douche-like.

If there was intent to injure, which there was from the looks of it, a red card can be shown. You can't lash out against a player like that while shielding the ball. Many have gotten sent off for just that.

Ohh sulk me. Those are the fucking rules.
Caceres should definitely have been sent off in the Italy game, but you didn't think so because he was playing against Italy. You think the Behrami sending off is correct, because you like Chile.

How utterly pathetic.
