Honestly how would the Koreans just let it slip in 45 minutes!

Where was the freaking tactic against Brasil! THe more they get a goal the more they open spaces!

Anyhow..

Who's that Portugese central midfielder with the long black hair? We should definitely get that guy.
Pedro Mendes. He's really only come on for the Portugal NT in the last half of WC qualifiers, and was moderately impressive.

I feel bad for the North Koreans. Poor guys.
Me too. I mean, they deserved better. Not only that, but I admire how professional the team is: no whining, no flopping around, no dives, no crybabying, no foul pleading. They're all business among a field of crybabies in this cup.

But goal differential is crucial in this cup. Playing Brazil next, I would pile on as many goals as possible to qualify.

They lack class that much is true, but they have to improve their goal difference.

This game is starting to become very fishy.
After 2-0, the gates opened up. Portugal hadn't scored in four consecutive WC matches. You give a team a little confidence and open space after being bottled up for so long, and crazy things can happen.

I think it's the mix of the North Korea regime, their striker announcing that he would score in every game and the fact that these guys probably believed they could do something. I'm sure they've been led to believe that North Korea could be one of the greatest nations on Earth when it comes to football. To see them destroyed like that with who knows what awaiting them when they get back to North Korea pains me.
True that.
But that's how that regime works, they def think they can overpower the US in some kind of conflict...it is better when this shit happens in football.

This is the only win Porugal is going to get this world cup. And it's fun beating up on a team 100 ranks lower than you. At least Ronaldo didn't get to cry like a baby about not scoring a goal.

I do have to give respect to North Korea. They did not get frustrated and start fouling like IC yesterday.

Oh and Congrats Swag. :D

Thanks, Bisco and Mohad. But Mohad is likely right. We probably won't even see Portugal score a single goal for the rest of the Cup.

Winning the 2nd place in their group will mean that Portugal plays the first placed in group H. Everyone expected and many still expect that to be Spain, but who says that it won't be Switzerland?
The Swiss need to beat Honduras and draw with Chile and Spain certainly won't win their group.

Portugal-Switzerland isn't something that Portugal can't win or score a goal.

Tiago scores a brace and has 1 assist, and the media go ga-ga over Ronaldo scoring a goal! This world is so unfair! Fuckin' hell! :((
Tiago was clearly man of the match. He had the biggest impact when it counted and before this match got out of control.

I might even add Raul Meireles as a close second with Coentrão third before I'd consider giving Ronaldo credit.

Douchebag fans gave Ronaldo MOM against Ivory Coast when he did squat and Coentrão worked his ass off.

My wife is. Though I'm still working on getting a passport myself.

It should be Spain. Spain-Portugal would be an intriguing match-up. Portugal got the better of them at home in Euro 2004 coming out of the group stages, but this is a very different Spanish team mentally.

Switzerland has a serious D. I was not shocked that Spain got clean-sheeted. I don't think any team can take the Swiss Cheese D for granted.
