Their approach to the game in the second half was weird. They never believed they could advance from this group, they never tried more to score more goals to a 10 man France. At some points in the second half I thought their goalkeeper was wasting time.

As for the MLS, if you don't ref at an acceptable level, you can't be considered a good ref.

Brian Hall was an MLS referee for several years and did two matches at the 2002 World Cup. He did a good job there, better than some of his European counterparts.
