paraguay's coach is really handicaped in the upper level...how can you not start the golden boot of europe?
Because he won't get any balls just like Lucas. They don't have a link to the top and because they are scared going forward they will be isolated upfront all the time no matter who's playing there. You saw that all the time that no one on the flanks and in midfield wanted to go forward because they only thought about defense.

Deutschland war toll.

Özil!

Iaquinta and Gila with a barfworthy performance...need to be fucked off NOW!

and Criscito

if this is the 'best in Italy', then Italy should be wiped off the map.

donno sweetie...i wouldn't even thinked not starting oscar...and when he played he was isolated in the left flank. But well, a point is a point. A good point...they need to beat new zeeland and they're through imo

Italy's goal was even more lucky. A terrible mistake by the goalkeeper.
what is the difference here ? the goal by paraguay was a terrible mistake by cannavaro (or whoever was supposed to mark him)... so it was an individual mistake on both sides...

its not like the whole italian defense slept there ... while you could argue, that italys goal was due to the goalkeeper being a monkey without catching skills and another player not marking de rossi close enough ....

Every goal is a lucky one if you put it that way. Someone makes some kind of mistake for every single goal.

I actually agree with the main point of your post, but I was replying to someone who blamed Paraguay's goal on bad luck and ignored what happened during Italy's goal.

I don't think we can call Cannavaro totally worthless due to the goal. He's shorter than the other defenders, and Paraguay took advantage of that. It simply doesn't mean he's past his prime and he needs to go.

BTW, Lippi's experimental 4-2-3-1 formation totally didn't work. He needs to stick to a 4-4-2, or find proper players and play them in position for the 4-2-3-1 to work!

apparently its buffons hamstring.

maybe we need to give bonucci a shot.

That doesn't surprise me at all. You don't need to be a doctor to see the guy has no hamstring/hip/glute strength whatsoever. Look at him run, it's as if he's got Trendelenburg. I understand that quads are more important for jumping, but some balance is necessary.

As for the game.. Paraguay were horrible. Italy sucked too, but apart from Camoranesi they were at least trying to play the ball.

Lippi said Buffon has a back problem.

Criscito was good defensively and offensively he was alright, he'll be a good choice for us.
totally true, mate! He had enough forward runs as a LB, and he was quite well at defence. Although he is no brilliant in putting the ball in the area, right up front forwards,I admire his performance. At least he was much better than Marchisio tonight... He'll make a reliable defence beside our beloved big nose...

probably, but grosso 2006 > criscito 2010 -_-
obviously! Grosso 06 was fantastic, but Grosso 2010<<<Criscito 2010...
And while we can't get any better LB, he'd be the best option with an eye to our 50% own...
