to be honest its more like a I'm embarrassed at being afiliated with these losers, even to the extent that I'm in the country they so desperately want to visit. we have all that crap here in Utrecht too, it's not unique to Amsterdam. I even know where the hookers are cause I like exploring a new city on my bike. strike that, the bike the motherfuckers stole today

First time I saw hookers was in dear Poland, they hang on the side of certain major roads. Not that it's unusual for people sell their fruits and vegetables there, but those women were just standing there aimlessly. So I asked my grandfather and he didn't really know how to explain it lol.
Anyway I don't know Amsterdam too well, but here in Utrecht there's three locations. One is a short alley in the city. Then there's a road by the river which is really the last place I'd expect it. And those are like official locations, they have office space. But then there's the outsourcing/private contractor place by this home improvement warehouse where they just stand outside a long fence.
So that's the tour.
Oh and a former roommate of mine already did that joke. We were grocery shopping and stumble upon that short alley cause it's dead in the center. And he made a joke about "shopping at that other supermarket". Unlike you, he was actually funny.

People who go around expressing their primal urges all the time are insanely boring. Frankly I don't care if people go see prostitutes or get drunk out of their minds every weekend or what have you. It's when they come back to brag about it and expect some kind of credit it for it that's just pathetic.

Here it's totally underground as well, there are some certain streets where you can get what you need but only if you dig ugly ass trucker-looking-40-year old-whores. If you want the good stuff you need to pick up the yellow pages, read between the lines and start dialing.

Ouch, that's really often. I don't really understand people who steal bikes, cars I do, at least you can sell it for some good money. What do you do with a bike? I mean unless it's some freaky custom made high tech-measure your blood pressure bike, you can't really sell it for anything worthwhile. Not worth the trouble, at least not here where people only use it for recreational purposes.

I can imagine, yeah, because they're one of the primary means of transportation there. I remember my brother telling me there are more bikes in Amsterdam than cars when he got back from his trip, on most of his photos it was pretty obvious. I suppose the theft would be higher here as well if people actually used them for getting around. Someone who rides a bike here is an outsider. We got practically 1.5 cars per person here and we supposedly don't have money.
It's sickening, we're not such a big city, but the traffic jams here...NYC wouldn't be ashamed of them, everyone goes to work with his own car. God forbid 2,3 neighbours work something out and go together in one car, that'd be embarrasing.

Nah, if I were to get one it would have to be small, cheap and cost me as little as possible. Saabs don't fit the bill, although they totally rock.
