Oh, please don't do a Jack Thompson on us, even if you weren't serious about what you said. :disagree: If this incident was influenced by Counter-Strike, a whole bunch of students would've shown up in SWAT gear and flashbanged the guy before he could shoot any more people.

What's really stupid, if you look at the comments on the Youtube video, is that some people think the solution is more guns.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Was the pun intended?
What stupid remarks, the guy was suicidal, he wouldn't have cared if others carry guns or not. Just instead of going all gung ho he would've hid behind a wall and went trigger happy. Then painted the wall with his brains...not really a solution.

I am sure that this is a gun problem, but I think it goes deeper than that, i.e sociological factors.

Oh believe me, the last thing I'm doing is gloating.
I am sure you weren't, it just seemed as if you were. I mean if I were you I would've let it rest and then discuss it seriously when all the dust has settled. :)

CNN) -- Police identified the gunman who killed 32 people on the Virginia Tech campus before turning the gun on himself as student Cho Seung-Hui, university police Chief Wendell Flinchum said Tuesday.

The 23-year-old South Korean and resident alien lived at the university's Harper Hall, Flinchum said. He was an English major, the chief said.

Flinchum said ballistics tests showed that one of the two guns recovered at Norris Hall, where 30 people and the gunman died, was used in the Norris shooting and an earlier shooting at a dormitory that left two dead.

The university and police are still in the process of releasing the names of the 32 people killed in Monday's shootings. (Watch how some are asking why warnings weren't issued sooner Video)

A doctor at a Blacksburg hospital described the injuries he saw Monday as "amazing" and the shooter as "brutal."

"There wasn't a shooting victim that didn't have less than three bullet wounds in them," said Dr. Joseph Cacioppo of Montgomery Regional Hospital.

Even among the less serious injuries, Cacioppo said, "we saw one patient that had a bullet wound to the wrist, one to the elbow and one to the thigh. We had another one with a bullet wound to the abdomen, one to the chest and one to the head."

The police have so far been horrible in press conferences. "There were victims in at least four classrooms" - what kind of nonsense is that?

On CNN last night there was a reporter interviewing some students that had come to see what was going on, check up on friends etc. and she says "Have you seen people be emotional today?"

ya the police in blacksburg are not trained for this kind of protocol. its a small college town with the majority of the members of the force being comprised of old, useless officers who have never had to do more than write a parking violation. especially when it comes to media control they are being eaten alive.

did anyone notice that clip of the fat cop with the assault rifle running like he was going to save the day??
just by watching that clip it should give you the general idea of the lack of resources and protocol that such a small law enforcement group had.

    he is a south korean

but in the eyes of many, speically american, we are no different, asian = chinese
I sort of had a feeling that when the idiots on Fox News were reporting the guy was Chinese, that potentially they could have made a mistake and he could have been a national from another Asian country. Then I saw a bunch of people speculating on facebook groups that he was indeed chinese, and some idiots were searching Virginia Tech students with "chinese" sort of names. Needless to say some people found a Kim, another guy found a Phan. And needless to say I had to correct them that traditionally Kim is a very common name in Korea and Phan could potentially be from Vietnam... idiots.

I do worry about all the retards who aren't used to living next to someone who looks ethnically different from themselves and thus treats everyone with a suspicious eye. That goes for Koreans in Virginia as well as Virginians in Korea.

That whole story in upper Wisconsin of locals firing on Hmong immigrants a couple years ago was sad enough.

It is absolutely mind-boggling how somebody can say more guns is the answer. But apparently NRA-loving conservatives in this country cannot deduce that making more weapons available means a greater chance of somebody like Cho or any other criminal obtaining one..

These people are the bane of my nation.

By that logic, if everything goes better with more guns, just imagine how much our quality of life would improve if we all upgraded our citizens to RPG shoulder-launched missiles.
