He was pathetic. Pretty much his usual self.
Haters will hate him even if he scores 10 goals. He did very good yesterday, if it wasn't that lucky bitch boruc saves, you would read all compliments here :blah:

In that short period of time, he did better than the other two forwards in the match, again, he was unlucky to score, only one mistake, better to say disagreement between him and krasic just outside of the match, but I guess that's enough for you to discredit what he had done rest of the time.

You said you hope he keep it up but what he did last night was missing chances (he also missed a free header from two meters even though the game was stopped at that point). I just hope he won't keep missing good chances like he did last night :eyebrows:

By no means was he better than Del Piero btw.

We got more presence in the box with Iaquinta. He was needed yesterday and unlike the previous matches where he was missing the chances he should have scored or at least got a strong reaction from the keepers, yesterday it was a wonderful Boruc who stopped him.
The subbed one should have been Quagliarella, though.

If EL is so meaningless so we play bunch of primavera kids against Salzburg, then I see no use to rest Del Piero and Iaquinta for the Lech match.

It wasn't a good save, only a very very bad finishing. He had several options to bury that chance but he went for the worst one. It was all his though, the way he passed his man was brilliant.

Del Piero started terribly but I was satisfied later with his performance after 30 minutes from the first half. Quagliarella was terrible yesterday thou (just yesterday, I love Quag and he should start every matches). So yes, I think Iaquinta was better than Del Piero and Quagliarella yesterday.

And I do agree with Alen, subbing Quag would have been a better idea, since we took another creative player Aquilani out and gave his role to Marchisio, less creative. I think if we had kept Aquilani (even thou he was bad yesterday, but one good moment, one brilliant pass could still make a goal) along with Dp and Iaquinta, it could have been a different story..

I am not saying Iaquinta is an amazing player, but he is a super sub, and always delivers when he plays. I just hate it when member don't see what he is doing and appreciate, let that alone, he gets dissed instead..

I have always appreciated what he gives to the team and I actually like him very much. He is a very useful player to our team. I only said I hope he won't keep on missing good chances like he did last night, you misunderstood me. And I still believe that Ale had a better night than Iaq had.

Don't take it personal on you, I am writing in general :D

This is how members here think about Iaquinta. I won't agree with you about Alex, yesterday wasn't his day, not terrible, but not good either. But to be honest, I am more than satisfied with three of them, as long as Amauri doesn't step in I am happy.

I am sorry but DP was terrible yesterday (Okay for a player his age). Extremely slow and wasted a lot of chances.. lots of miss-passes.. A thru-pass for delpiero is pointless at the moment.. its not even worth trying. DP at this age must be used as a static station that creates thru-passes and assists goals from the center not the flanks, that is if you want him to play as a starter.

As much as I love him, he only pulls us back if he plays as a starter..... cameo role is the best you can get out of him if you want him to occupy the function he used to provide... cause by the end of matches, defenses are more exhausted and his free kicks (won and scored) may prove vital.
