I've never really heard anyone praising him enough to consider him overrated.

He's a good striker, though.
I've heard a few claim that Toni would rival Gerd Muller's record in Germany of scoring 43 or whatever goals in one Bundesliga season.

If that isn't overrating, I don't know what is.

Toni is a joke, not a football player. Always thought this way. He should have been a basketball player, more precisely a centre.

Toni definitely had 2-3 superstar years, but he has a tendency to disappear in too many big games. Actually, he's been a borderline disaster for over a year with La Nazionale... So many chances in that time, such a small return.

Awesome all around for Bayern last year though... and some pretty decent numbers this year... although it seems like every time I watch him play I'm disappointed. Still, for 11M he was a good buy for Bayern...

He was class in 2005/06 season and that's pretty much it. He was a lone striker though. In 2006/07 he was also good but already then Mutu started sealing his thunder. Good riddance for Fiorentina, I'd say.

-From the Bayern website... about Toni in 07/08...

"Il Bomber mined a rich vein of goalscoring form, ending the season as the Bundesliga’s leading marksman on 24 goals, with an overall haul of 51 scorer points, comprising 39 goals and 12 assists from 43 matches in all competitions."

To me these numbers are an indication of class, Bundesliga or not. Unfortunately, that form did not carry over to La Nazionale @ the Euros.

Anyways, not at all interested in the player @ Juve.

Great 2009 from Vincenzo!
