Iaquinta Prepared For Bench Time
Juventus signing Vincenzo Iaquinta has endeared himself to his new teammates and fans by announcing that he is prepared to play a supporting role if it means that it is for the greater good of the team.
"I know it won't be easy for me, as we have so many good players in our squad,” he said. “We must stay united and avoid rivalry. Like at the World Cup we will have to accept being rotated."
Iaquinta went on to proclaim that he doesn’t believe the Bianconeri should feel inferior to anyone going into next season, despite the fact that it was only a few months ago that they were playing Serie B football .
"I don't like making predictions, but I am sure we will make a great start and have a good championship.
"We have no reason to be envious of our opponents and have done better in the transfer market than Milan and Inter," opined the 27-year-old striker, who joined Juve from Udinese on a five-year contract worth £5.7 million and included the co-ownership of Michele Paolucci.
Iaquinta earned further brownie points with an ode to his new employers.
"I would have still come if they were in Serie B - you do not say no to Juventus!"
