VDV would be a great buy. the guy is 24. the right age. he is already very mature. good for our younger players. and he is versatile. what isnt there to like?
I will definitely welcome VDV to Juventus, yet I'm waiting for everything to be official to be totally convinced that VDV is ours

I know this has been posted before but how easily he gets beat for pace kind of worries me...

Has he lost alot of pace due to his injuries?. This could be a problem when he gets older!

And wikipedia says hes had alot of these injuries over the years and even mentions him having a history of partying.

I'll admit that I've never seen him play but is he as good as hes hyped?

Nedveds replacement should be taken very seriously and I hope we get it right.
That other guy did have a short head-start on him though.

His frequent injuries. I'm really scared that should he join us, he could pu a Marchionni (where he gets injured alot in a season that he does not have a real impact when he is on because of fitness problems) or he could pull an Andrade (miss virtually all the season)

that's my only concern.but his desperation to leave, his knocked down price, and above all his talent is very tempting not to bid for him

I think we need both because you can't just put all that pressure on a young player to bring in the goods. I know in the past it was done but the game changed and its tougher for younger players in big clubs to excel straight away.

Also bringing them both in would give us a certain compatibility factor, you have to consider that VDV won't fit in straight away as well and would need some time.
That all sounds great in theory but...I don't know..It's not like VDV is 30 and we'll get him untill Giovinco matures, he's young as well with a long (possible) future at the club.

Lets play pretend here and say in the beginning rotation would be a rational and effective solution. What after a year, or two, when Giovinco becomes a world class AMC, on par with VDV? Then what the heck will we do? You can't rotate two class players, neither will accept that. The team is shaped around that type of player, you can't rotate that position. The best bet is to make them learn to play together, while Giovinco is so young it could be a possibility.

All in all I really want VDV but not at the expense of Giovinco.

to be fair though Marchionni is unreliable and Camo is 31. so that would leave Gio and VDV as our main creative forces for long term.

Camo still has a few years in him, though not if he continues this injury spree he has in the last 2 years.

yeah, I'm worried that Camo is going through the whole "Getting more inury prone as age increases" thing. the more reason to find a suitable replacement soon to take over his role.

here what has me worried though. Imagine if our main creative force for AMC/wings for next season looks like this Marchionni, VDV, Camo, Gio. out of those 3 are known to have frequent injuries and the other is still relatively unproven youngster. very concerning considering we will be competing on 3 fronts

Add to this the inury proneness of Andrade, Grygera and Iaquinta and we could have a serious crisis on our hands next season.

Ok. Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic about the crisis thingy, but my point about our midfield can't be ignored

Not too make things worse but Giovinco is still young, with very little experience on the high level, so his injury proneness is perhaps yet to be revealed. His physique is not reassuring, that's for sure..

But that's really a pessimistic outcome, if they all get injured at the same time, then fuck it! Zanetti, Marchisio, Nocerino, Salihamidzic and long ball fiesta towards Trezeguet and we'll get by. :D

Agree with you Lion, it's too risky .. but still it's mouth watering ;) .. and ya no need to be an extra pessimist ..

and on a side note, Iaquinta is just to weak against flu viruses .. not really injury proneness .. he still can train, right ?
