I actually agree with people who are saying we don't need van der Vaart because we already have Giovinco, but on the other hand we will play CL next year too+Coppa Italia and I don't think it would hurt to have van der Vaart and Giovinco. Especially if you consider how injnury-prone van der Vaart seems to be. I think we shouldn't miss the chance to sign a worldclass player like van der Vaart for relatively little money. There should be enough cash to strenghten the other parts like the defence too. I say bring vdV(even though I prefer Diego but he's too expensive),a CB and probably a striker(Huntelaar) and we're set. For LB there's De Ceglie and the midfield is strong enough with Marchisio returning.

Reinforcements IMO should be: Ivanovic(Lokomotiv), Pasqual (Fiorentina), Marchisio & Giovinco (recall from loan), Cigarini(Parma:Trade Almiron), VDV/Diego (I personally prefer Diego but if VDV is much cheaper than go for him), Hunterlaar(Ajax)

i dont know this talk of " i can imagine my self in a juve shirt" sounds sooooo familiar and brings back memories. if 'm not mistakened we reached the same position last summer when we were trying to get milito and he said the exact comments but surprise surprise he ended up with barca, who were'nt really in the race to sign him ( it was just madrid and juve). any way i have my fingers crossed for this one i really would love to see vander vaart at juve it would be amazing for us!!!

Real Madrid were not interested in buying Milito but instead were interested in buying Chivu and after they failed in that transfer they surprised everyone when they had signed Pepe for €30million euros. Had Secco agree to pay the amount Real Zaragoza were asking we would have signed him without any competition.

I won't believe it until I see him holding a jersey, and even then I won't because I read that he held the Valencia jersey but the transfer never went through.

Btw, why would we pay 11m for a player in January when we can get him for less than 1m in the summer?

'I can already see myself playing for Juventus' is a pretty big statement. It would be fantastic if its true, but then again,i wont trust the source completley on this one as yet.Van Der Vaart could have well said somethng along the lines of playing at Juventus an honour, and the paper could have quoted him the way they wanted him to quote,to spice the story up.

I really like VDV, not as much as Modric, but I really like him. But...if Giovinco is as good as people claim to be, I'm not saying either, than what the heck do we need VDV for?
