Filipe,

DO you promise that if Juve signs a Dutch player, you'll be a regular member here??
I dunno, i'm not a Juve supporter. And therefore i like to post on more general football boards such as Xtratime and Bigsoccer, but i'm sure i'll be more present here as VDV is one of my favourite players and i like to see what other football-minded people think of him. :agree:

Diego isnt alot better then VDV, they are more or less in the same level, except I would prefer Diego because he would run the team and be more vital as a playmaker. VDV is more of a versatile goalscoring attacking midfielder.

And whoever it is, WE NEED to sign a top class/world class offensive midfielder to lead our team. We want Giovinco to be in Juve equally as much, but just drop the bull of not signing players because Giovinco is enough. Not sign too many so he can get a shot, but to rely on him off the bat and only have him as attacking midfielder/saviour? Thats alot of sentimental hogwash.
But VDV is more of a captain material, no?

wasn't he available for 12 million Euros or something? and Inter have signed/trying to sign D Carvalho, so I dont think they need VDV anymore

The guys is just being honest, a virtue very rare in football-world. You cant't blame him for saying he won't reject Barca, or Real, or Valencia or even Milan for that matter. He's a pro and if he'll sign with us he'll give his all. Quite frankly, I don't give a shit which other teams he likes.

He never said anything about a dream club, just he wants to play in spain one day, so the fuck what, he still has a decade left to do that. We can do him like we did Zidane. Let him have his best years here and sell him for a shitload of money afterwords.

Exactly. what's interesting to me though that it seems he is more interested in winning trophies than money. I'm sure HSV are willing to break the bank to keep him, but he knows that with clubs like Real, Barca, Juve..etc. he has more chances to achieve more career wise.

He's a sportsman who wants to achieve the highest possible. Not the biggest amount of money.

The VdV transfer consideration has to include whether he will bring as much - or more - to the table as Hamsik might next season. Both are fine players and would make a very good acquisition.

So, as things stand as we head towards the wintter break, after the Lazio and Siena matches, I think we can all agree the following:-

1 Giovinco and Marchisio should be brought back straight away.

2 We need one main back 4 player of true international class, be it Ivanovic or someone of equal stature in January, not next summer.

3 We need a new forward midfielder in by next summer to replace Pavel Nedved.
Either Van der Vaart, Hamsik or someone else as good or better.

4. Next summer, we will need to have come to a verdict as to whether we believe Palladino is going to be a consistent performer for us in the 2008/2009 season. We will have the rest of this season to come to a proper judgement. I assume that we would wish to consolidate our attacking options with one further proven striker of international class, preferably an Italian and also someone under 25 years of age.
Say Quagliarella or someone as good or better to partner 3zegol.

Remember, as we expect a top 4 finish and qualify for a Champions League place, a strengthened squad, notably deeper than at present is required. Failure to get that finish is unthinkable in financial terms and, especially, for our ability to land the best players.
