German Media is full of "van der Vaart to Juve?" articles and in German forums the HSV fans are going crazy, insulting Juve as a boring club with no fans in the ranks, corupt and unattractive. Some of them are even saying that HSV is a bigger club than Juventus:lol:. Anyways,I hope we get vdV just for the sake of the pissed HSV-fans :D. Yes, and tomorrow we will probably hear from Secco or Gigli that this news are pure BS.
JUVE EYE MELLBERG SWOOP

Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has confirmed the club are interested in signing Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg.

Mellberg has been strongly linked with a move to Turin, with the player yet to sign a new deal at Villa Park.

The Swedish international's contract expires at the end of the season and reports have suggested that Mellberg has agreed a pre-contract with the Italian giants.

Gigli played down talk that Juventus had already agreed a deal for Mellberg, but confirmed he was one of a number of players they were keeping tabs on.

The Juventus surpremo admitted the club are looking at free agents including Fiorentina defender Tomas Ujfalusi who has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.

"Ranieri is satisfied with the squad to which we will add a couple to play in Europe," Gigli told Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"At the moment we are focused on signing players who will be free agents.

"We need a few more players who are available for a free transfer. Mellberg, (Tomas) Ujfalusi? We are following them but they are not the only players we are interested in."

Gigli also declared that Juventus were hoping to sign Dutch international Rafael van der Vaart.

Van der Vaart is believed to be considering his future at Hamburg and has previously admitted he would be interested in a move to Juventus.

"Van der Vaart is one of many players that we are observing," added Gigli.

"We like him very much but at the moment we prefer to sign players who cost nothing."

A good omen ... ?

Juve signs these players since 2000:

David Trezeguet - Scored the goal that defeated Italy in the Euro 2000 Final

Pavel Nedved - Score goal for the Czech Republic that knock out Italy in Euro 96 in the group stages

Zaltan Ibrahimovic - Score goal for Sweden against Italy that knock Azzurri out in Euro 2004

Rafael Van Der Vaart - ... in Euro 2008 (Holland is in the same group as Italy too)

Oh Gosh ...

Sissoko precedes Van Der Vaart? Saturday 5 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rafael Van Der Vaart has confirmed “I can see myself at Juventus,” but in the meantime the Bianconeri turn to Mohamed Sissoko or Javier Mascherano.

The Dutch international’s deal with Hamburg runs until July 2010, but he has rejected an offer to add another two years with wages worth £3m per season.

“I still dream of playing for one of Europe’s biggest clubs and if I signed for Hamburg until 2012, I’d have to wait too long for that to come true,” the 24-year-old told 'Bild.’

“I still have another two and a half years on my contract and it is quite a long period. It was very difficult for me to turn down the offer, as it was an excellent proposal and the club did everything it could to keep me here.”

Inter and several Premiership and Liga sides had also shown an interest in Van Der Vaart, but he has made his preference very clear.

“I have not yet received an official bid, but I did hear that Juve are interested in me. I can really see myself at Juventus.”

An £11m proposal is already on the table with a five-year contract for the midfielder to be signed in June.

In the meantime, the Bianconeri want a January reinforcement to replace the Olympiacos-bound Sergio Almiron, who has been something of a flop since his switch from Empoli.

Their sights are firmly set on the Premier League and specifically Liverpool, where Sissoko is the prime target for a mid-season swoop.

The midfielder admitted it was “a mistake” to reject Juve’s offer in the summer and is increasingly marginalised after his row with Coach Rafa Benitez.

However, Sissoko would not be able to join his new teammates in Turin until February, as he will be playing in the African Cup of Nations.

Another alternative is his Liverpool colleague Mascherano, who could arrive on loan with a fixed payment set for the end of the season.

Than I hope Ibra9 is right, cuz I preffer Diego over VDV

“There are set to be returns of players on loan, like Claudio Marchisio, Sebastian Giovinco and Paolo De Ceglie, plus we will sign two star names – real world class players – in attack and central defence.” - Gigli
I really hope he is telling the truth, cuz this kind of transfer policy sounds good to me along with some free agents.

Thats not good. Now he is officially on the marked for every big club in Europe. They only announced that, because they want as much as possible for him now.
