Ranieri wants him back more experienced. But you may have a point, we are yet to see if Giovinco will get any role next season. I believe he will, but I am not 100 % sure.
I'm confident Giovinco will have a role to play for us next season. It may be a bit part role but he'll get his chance for sure. What I don't understand is why Ranieri doesn't want Van der Vaart. Nedved is on his last legs and prodigy or not, Giovinco is still unproven at the highest level. VDV could add to the team right away but I guess Ranieri is content with relying on Del Piero in clutch situations.

If this were to happen, when do you think it will?

And would it affect our club in a major way eg Transfers?

Surely we wont have to take another year of transition??
this will never happen. and yes it would affect our club. y would this happen any way all we need to get rid of is ranieri and secco not the agnielli legacy

Too much questions. :p I´ll try to find some more info.
Where are you going to find info ? :p
It's only an assumption, with some logic in it. I doubt gsol or anyone else close to him has inside info about Juve being sold to new owners.

But lets say Juve is sold. Normally, the new owners would like to have the team during the summer and after the season ends when it will be known what's the market price of the club Juventus.
The new owners, depending on their ambitions and the purpose for buying the club, will invest money for transfers.

In England, Abramovich and that ex-politician that bought Man City invested a lot of money for transfers. I think Liverpool's new owners also gave Benitez lots of money.
I'm not sure about Glazer and ManUtd though. I don't know where most of the money for their transfers come from.

In any case, for this particular summer transfer window, i think we'll be buying much more with a new owner than with the current ones. Buf for the future....... it's one big question mark.

Anybody playing the Giovinco card, saying that we shouldn't buy a playmaker right now is a fool. Giovinco and a playmaker can coexist and we don't even know if Giovinco is ready yet. But God, I hope he is because we need him. BADLY.
Yes they can, certainly, but whether Ranieri either knows how to incorporate this and/or whether he is willing to do so is another story. We lack some creativity in the middle, but there are players currently in the squad who can create who haven't been given a real chance there so it looks as if Ranieri isn't going to go down that route regardless.

It seems Ranieri sees van der Vaart as similar to Del Piero, Giovinco and Palladino, forwards who can score but also create and play deeper off the midfield or even in midfield. So if this is true then I can see why he is loathe to go for van der Vaart (if this is true at all and not a smokescreen). If he is going to play Giovinco next season as has been suggested by Cobolli, Secco and others then it means leaving out Del Piero in this system which has proven a problem in the past.

It could work:

-------------------------DM-----------DM----------------------

AMR---------------------van der Vaart-------------------AML

---------------------------------CF-----------------------------

or

AMR--------------------DM-----------DM------------------AML

--------------------------------------van der Vaart------------

---------------------------------CF------------------------------

but not with van der Vaart in the centre of midfield.

When you see Ranieri will basically be trying to fit Del Piero, Giovinco, Palladino, Trezeguet and Iaquinta into three positions, it becomes clearer why van der Vaart may not be high on his list of priorities. Camoranesi is also a consideration.

My personal preference would be for a top class central defender and an attacking midfielder to come in the summer, but what Ranieri might go for is a defender plus another defensive midfielder. I can see why he is doing this but also why people don't agree with it.

Now that was a quality post and I agree completely with it. Man, you don´t know how good it feels to read something like this after 10 pages of yelling and series of insults, lame comments and other shit.....

According to one magazine, looks like Ale is also welcoming the idea of signing VDV.

Fook, sign him, VDV has Ale as his idol, Ale likes the idea of singing this man, we need some fresh legs this summer:D

i would love wenger if h wasnt such a winer.
I would love having Wenger so much that if asked to choose between getting him as a coach or signing Ronaldinho, I would choose the former. Because he would transform our whole team from top to bottom to play like Ronaldinho's (and having the best primavera in the country would mean something) instead of having only one ;)

:| Indeed. I could've lived with Ranieri saying that Giovinco could be Nedved's heir, but Palladino.... Oh Ranieri you poor senile fool :sigh:.
he dude everytime palla played ml, he played good, he was even called up for the NT. So why he shouldnt be the heir....but i also think we should find an realy winger and not a support striker as a ml.

this looks good but i would prefer 2 strikers upfront...
great post btw :toast:

well if VDV can play AML, that would be the best but i don't think so right?
imo gio is kinda better suited to play trequartista then being a AML...

hopefully we'll live thru this season without the need for VDV *PRAYS*

4-4-2 would be the most suited...
and with marchisio returning next season,

Camo----Marchisio----Zanetti/Rino----Gio?

i'm still not sure what kind of player marchisio is can someone enlighten me?
is he a DM or pirlo kinda player?

we shld get a new AMR to take over camo, don't wait until the problem becomes like our currrent one with nedved!
quaresma anyone?
