There is a simple answer really. Americans love entertainment, drama and simple things. They don't like real choices, ideas and actual politics. With Bipartisan politics, Americans are given what they want in spades: the longest running comedy drama show on Earth. Other parties are literally treated like warts rather than an actual alternative - both by the system and by the majority.
We like drama in a Kim Kardashian way. :D

I wouldn't say most Americans enjoy political drama, however. Especially when the nation is somewhat in a stagnated turmoil the last 4-5 years. I would imagine we want to get things rolling again so we can go back to watching the kardashians. :D

Yeah, its more about saying things like "building a future for our kids and grandkids", "god bless america", and talking about your background than actual politics. The difference between for example elections in Sweden and US are huge. At the end of the elections here in Sweden you become an expert on politics but you don't know anything about the politicians. Shit over at America is like a popularity contest. You learn everything about what Obama likes to eat to how Mitt Romney's shit looks like.

And lol @ Obama letting Eva Langoria speak at the convention.  What the fuck does she have to do with politics?

That was my impression, thank you.

Publicity stunt. To get people to watch. They have nothing else to talk about.

Pretty much the same reason they let Clint Eastwood speak at the RNC. To get people other than hard core party followers to watch.
It's just like infographics, folks: people want to be entertained rather than informed.

Knowing Costco, William Howard Taft would have been their ultimate president. I'm surprised he didn't endorse Chris Christie.

One how would he know ? Two if Obama is so good for business how come the economy sucks and unemployment hasn't broken 8% ? Also ask him why emelt who currently runs his business council said he won't vote for Obama again?
What if the proposed economic plan from the republicans would have resolved in an employment rate at 14 percent and an even larger debt and smaller growth?

Just because a given Economy isn't doing well doesn't necessarily mean that the current economic plan is not the right one.

It's like when you're stuck with Del Neri. And the only other coach on the market is Zeman.

Are you serious? Here's an example which is almost parallel jimmy carter and Ronald Reagan. Reagan by his third year completely reversed all of Carter's damage

You really are a curious fellow, AC. That Reagan really was a miracle worker for the economy.

Every time you go a long time without saying anything bizarre I wonder when the next lapse is gonna be.
