Yep, but what's notable is that Labour Leader Kier Starmer isn't much more popular than outgoing PM Rishi Sunak. In some ways this result echoes 1997 when Tony Blair came in, except this time people aren't really excited about what Labour are bringing in, they just want rid of the Tories.

The Tories and Labour combined got a 60% vote share, that's the lowest they've had for near enough 100 years, but because of the First Past The Post system they still dominate the House of Commons.

Electoral reform will be a huge issue next general election.

Huge losses for SNP in Scotland as well. The real momentum for independence has died out again for now.

Farage manages to become an MP on his I think 8th attempt. His Reform UK party got a pretty big vote share (third highest) , but as I say because of how elections work in the UK they didn't get very many actual seats. As I write this they have 4, making them the 5th biggest party by seats in parliament.

Some high profile tories like Liz Truss (former PM) have lost their seats.
