i dont get it we seem to be only going for the free transfers and he is free
He's a good defender plus he's free :eyebrows: , but i think that we're allready packed in defence next year. "mellberg, andrade, chiellini, legro, criscito, De Ceglie, zebina, grygera..... 8 defenders i think is enough for the team. Unless we sell zebina and get Ujfaluši :rulz:

There is still molinaro and Birindelli ...

Some heads are bound to roll in the summer.

Atlético Front Runners For Ujfalusi

A pre-contract does not require to be signed during a transfer window, so all transfer activity has not necessarily ended. Atlético de Madrid are reported to be winning the race to sign Tomas Ujfalusi on a free transfer from Fiorentina at the end of the season, despite his agent denying the news.

The 29-year-old Czech Republic international is hot property and has been linked to a host of Europe's top clubs as his contract is set to expire with La Viola in the summer.

While Atlético may not have signed any one in the winter market, they have been working on next season and are said to want to tie up Ujfalusi as well as closing in on Ajax's John Heitinga.

Fiorentina's website reported last week that their player would be moving to Spain in June and Marca believe that influential negotiator Bayran Tutumlu has brokered the deal.

Despite that, Ujfalusi's representative, Dalibor Lacina, was not impressed and claimed that no decision would be made until the time comes.

"For the umpteenth time I will say it," he began. "We will not make a decision until June because there are many questions to weigh up.

"We have thought a bit because first there was Sevilla, then Liverpool, then Juventus and now Atlético and it is normal for a player to be excited about these great clubs.

"But to say that there has already been an agreement signed is going one step ahead. Ujfalusi is a Fiorentina player and will continue to be until June.

"Nobody has ruled out the possibility that will stay either."

Good thing it is news from goal.com, then it is certain it is BS.
I hope he joins us, but I guess a lot will depend on how Stendardo will perform.

I dont think we'll sign Stendardo on permanent basis, as Lazio's asking price is too expensive.

We didn't. Why would Fiorentina, a team that is competing with us for a CL spot give us their best D?
I know, brother. I was being sarcastic. Back a month ago I said that Corvino would never sell us Ujfalusi to us since they are CL contenders. People stated that he would be the most likely to come in defense. I was merely making a point saying they were wrong. :p

We haven't lost him.

I was never going to be possible to sign him in January, but we still have a chance of getting him for the summer.

I don't think we'll get him in the summer, we allready have 10 defenders for next year "mellberg, andrade, chiellini, legro, criscito, De Ceglie, zebina, grygera, birindelli and molinaro". perhaps birindelli will retire next year, even so we still gonna have 9 defenders thats more than enough unless we sell some of them or loan them out.....

As far as I know, since he has less then 6 months of his contract left, we can offer him a contract without asking Fiorentina. Or am I mistaken?

We have the quantity, but do we have the quality?
