All this drama again. Dudes, German club football never was and never will be bigger than Calcio. Even if they do catch up and get the 4th spot, things will be back to normal in a season or two.
There were periods when it was. The Italians made the difference in the 1990's, but before that it was equal, with the Germans even having a little more success in Europe.

Before the 1990's the German clubs won 12 european club competitions trophies (Champions cup, Uefa Cup, Cup winners Cup) and the Italians won just as much. The German clubs lost 15 finals in these same competitions, the Italians lost 10.
We're talking about 35 years here. Only during the period from 1990-2007 the Italians were better and it's mostly due to Berlusconi and Milan's success.
Germany is a richer country, they have better infrastructure and slowly but surely they are investing more and more.
Unless a new Berlusconi pops up from somewhere and few more like him join him, Italian clubs will have a long way to go until they reach their 1990's status.

The reason I'm so convinced that Calcio will always be more attractive is because of history: Italy has 3 super clubs, which automatically attract star players just for their name, prestige, and history. Germany has one.

England had 2 only 10 years ago, then out of nowhere Arsenal and Chelsea created a name for themselves and became attractive destinations. Now maybe City too.
Yes, Italians start with an advantage but without proper investing, smart planning and advertising they will lose.
All it will take is some well known team like Dortmund, who already won big trophies, to become strong again.
It's clearly about money. Only about money. If not for the money then Chelsea and the perennial losers like Inter wouldn't be considered super clubs with prestige and history.

In sports, as in the business world and everything else, strong competition brings out your best. We can dominate Serie A for the next 10 years if our opponents are weak, but we will keep sucking in CL.

The Italian football is on decline and that will surely affect us in the long run.
    Its inevitable!
Actually, i am surprised it didnt affect us as much as i initially presumed!

But Juve has survived worse periods than that and we are still a bright beacon in a miserable championship.
We are still carrying the Italian pride on our Gobby shoulders. And for what?

Out from all serie A supporters, we, the Juve fans, should be the last ones worrying about "the good of Italian football".
Not anymore, not after all what happened. Not after we have seen that they would sacrifice the common good, only to bring down Juve.
They got/getting what they deserved, they brought this to their selves, their fault, not ours! And there is still a lot to pay for!!

I wish Milan and Roma all the worst!!
Hopefully Sampdoria and Genoa will take their positions!
    well said

why hasnt it still happened then? Isnt it a hint that rich asians are ONLY interested of epl clubs. Its certainly looks so, with maybe few exceptions. Everyone is more interested to take over a small fish in epl rather then actually own a very rich and famous club from some other top league.

Except in the mid to late 90's and early 00's when German's almost always dominated Europe.

How those co-efficients looking after this round?
One round can't change much. The Italians did just a tiny little bit better than the Germans in this round.
The German teams added 1.00 points to their coefficient in this round while the Italians got 1.14 points.
