The whole concept is stupid (no offense), why on earth would you need to post the same thing on two sites? Do you have issues maybe? Do you have some sick obsession with being "followed" by thousands of strangers? Or are you just so attention hungry, that you think having two social networking sites to post pointless crap on will double your chances of recognition?

IMO, it's for celebrities and not for normal people like you and me. Stick with facebook.

I think Twitter feeds are easier to follow. My posts can easily be lost between the stupid FB games being played, links, photos and videos. So when it comes to pure status updates, then Twitter is better. But this is only a part of it. The real beauty is following news accounts, artists, celebs, blogs, tech/financial companies etc. Trends help you find out what's going on, though half of the times it's full of stupid hashtags and lame meme's. But it's up to you to make use of it sensibly. If you don't want to post updates on Twitter, don't. No one's asking you to. It's your profile. You do what you want with it. Follow whom you want to. Moderate your list of followers. Don't call it gay just cos you don't like ONE of the ways it is being used.

Preach Sheik, preach!

Also, its fun sharing your admiration with Juve fans all over the world and typing your thoughts of "DEL PIEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and then seeing another 10-20 people with the same thoughts but instead typing "ALEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" or "ALESSANDOOOOOO DELLLLL PIEROOOOOOOOOOOOOO" or "GRANDE ALE!" or "CAPITANOOOOOOOOO!"

....you get my point.

On my phone I can see the news for football, basketball, cricket, wrestling, music, TV etc all in one place. Can't be bad, eh?

:agree: I said a long time ago that Twitter just replaced my need for using RSS feeds to follow the updates of many blogs and news sites. I can see the updates on my home PC, work laptop and my phone. Simply beautiful. I was initially reluctant to use Twitter. But after figuring out how to use it, it's one of my most visited sites, along with this forum and Facebook.

I was also reluctant to use it after pretty much outseeing the usefulness of Facebook. Most of my friends I see and/or talk to so no need to know what's going on in their lives.

I think I originally signed up to follow random celebs but then, like you say, after figuring out how to use it and what to use it for...well its freakin' sweet as I can catch up with everything going on within a few minutes.

If you're a celebrity or have some kind of message that a lot of people are interested in seeing you post then twitter is perfect, but I don't get why regular people would have one.

Regular people having one is fine, but there are those like Justin Bieber fans who should not have one. They all just tweet him and hope he responds or something.

This thread reminds me I created a twitter account sometime ago. I don't even remember the logins or know how to use it though. I'm not even that much active on Facebook anymore either.
