I have to agree with Stu and Seven here, snoop. Most of the time people were blasting the likes of denco, Vinni and I for our dislike of Capello and his tactics, plus the laziness of Zlatan, most notably in his second season. I still believe that our criticism towards him and his lack of class was justified.
We had probably the most compact and defensive side in the world on paper, especially through the middle with Thuram, Cannavaro, Emerson and Vieira. The Serie A of 2005/2006 was ugly as nobody really stood out and played exceptionally well. Capello's track record is indeed amazing, but I attribute most of his success with Juventus and Real Madrid due to other clubs wasting opportunities and simply choking. Capello's tactics were simple and particulary disgusting, just like the sort of man he is.
Just to show you how overrated Capello was with us, we supposedly had the best defensively structured side in the world, but we were absolutely owned by Werder Bremen, Liverpool and Arsenal in the Champions League. That sort of speaks for itself really.

capello's problem is that he was suited for italy with his ultra compact defence, but its something that couldnt be deployed in europe, capello's lack of ability to adapt to continental football was juve's downfall in europe, which is why he will never win a european cup with any team again. 10+ years he may of gotten away with it but now football in europe has changed too much for capello to adapt to
I wont bore everyone with the play by play of what happened last night, and I won't be praising Ranieri (or should I say sucking his dick like chicken hawk and fish-gills do).
Fact is Napoli out-played us in game number one. They controlled the midfield, beating us in numbers (5 versus our 3), and had a few good attempts as well (Dalla Bona should have scored when he just walked in without being touched, and had a good blast from 20 yards out).
DP saved the game, plain and simple. He must have realized that his team was putting very little together offensively, and decided to take matters into his own hands. Bravo Ale !!
Iaquinta proved me right once again (he'll NEVER let me down) by showing that he is a colossal waste of money and has limited skills. The traingle attack will never work with that waste of space in there.
In game two against what seemed to be Inter's primavera side, it took BUMsong less than 2 minutes to fuck things up, and because of him, Inter was on the board faster than you can say "guidorossifuckedus". Secco, dont sell him....GIVE HIM AWAY !!! I am sick of ppl on this forum making excuses for this guy...he isnt Juve material, plain and simple. Go find a Serie C2 team that you will fit in
And speaking of sending guys out of here, why hasnt the door slammed shut on Olivera, Legro, Blasi and Zalayeta as well ??
Someone posted the fact that Zalayeta saved his job last night....my question is "what exactly did he do ??" He missed the net on several occasions, we could bring in plenty of bums from a bus station who could do the exact same thing, so why not sign them too ??
I am not confident in this team, nor its coach right now, and if things dont improve with our GAMEPLAY very soon, then we may be struggling at mid table

I personally wouldn't say Napoli outplayed us, as we did have a good amount of possession. In fact, I'd call the match more of a stalemate where Ale came to save us once again.
While many people think Zalayeta is worthless, I have to say he sure as hell looked better than Iaquinta last night. In all honesty, considering the amount we payed Udinese, we should have just kept Zalayeta and spent some money on a younger, more useful striker. That would have made more sense. Hell, even Saviola is a better player than that guy.

juve should of won that by more than 1 goal but no need to say why we didnt.
should of bought boji or kept micco not bothered with iaquinta and invested that elsewhere, very bad business from the board especially at how miccoli has gone for 3 mill and is more of a proven goalscorer than iaquinta who cost nearly 4 times.

I don't think Miccoli is that great either, but you do have a point. I'm not sure which player is the more proven goalscorer as both are overrated. Either way, I didn't want either of them here. We should have signed Saviola when we had the chance... he's a quick player just like Iaquinta.

well from what i saw at benfica and his limited time at juve and fiorentina his crossing and shooting is better than iaquinta, but anyhow miccoli was ours and cost us nothing, iaquinta 11 mill - no brainer
as for saviola id still take bojinov ahead of him. i truely cant get over the fact we spent 11 mill on sum1 who only offers pace, jees thats such a typical english signing a walcott type signing.
