Moratti: “Football in August doesn’t count,” he told Tuttosport. “You could see that last year when we really struggled. Nobody remembers that now.
“But Inter v Juventus is Italian football. It is everything calcio stands for – memories, nerves, joy, pain, anger and emotion.”

That damn old uncle is saying damn right things. Anyway they`re going to loose :p
yeah it's true :agree: but fuck you morati, Juve will destroy your fucking squad.

Moratti On Tonight's Juve Clash, Emerson

Inter patron Massimo Moratti is keen to take on Juventus in this evening's Birra Moretti trophy. He also spoke about the possibility of bringing Emerson to the club.

Inter, Juventus and Napoli will each play the others in 45-minute games today, and Moratti is looking forward to facing the Old Lady.

He also dismissed Juve's poor early form, insisting that will coulnt for precious little.

"Football in August doesn’t count," he told Tuttosport. “You could see that last year when we really struggled. Nobody remembers that now.

"But Inter v Juventus is Italian football. It is everything calcio stands for – memories, nerves, joy, pain, anger and emotion."

He also spoke of last summer, when Inter signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira, and were linked with a few others. Gigi Buffon was one player they were linked with, Pavel Nedved being another.

"Were we interested in Nedved? I read that Roberto Mancini was thinking about him, but that never reached me," Moratti revealed.

"We did think consider Gigi Buffon, but Julio Cesar has been such a sensation that it would have been unfair to not carry on with him.

"As for Emerson, he is a great player, but we have Patrick Vieira. Also, perhaps three ex-Juventini would be too many! We have enough players now anyway."

Ranieri Plays Down Inter Friendly

As Juventus prepare to face Internazionale in the Birra Moretti Trophy, Old Lady coach Claudio Ranieri has downplayed the importance of this 45-minute tie, instead preparing to focus on the season ahead...

Claudio Ranieri has shrugged off suggestions that he's concerned about the impending Juve versus Inter "Italian Derby" in the Birra Moretti Trophy.

The trophy, which has been running for ten years, is contested by Italian clubs playing 45-minute clashes in pre-season.

Former Chelsea coach Ranieri said of the tie, "I can understand the fans’ anticipation, but I just see this as another step towards match fitness. It is good to have this tournament, but what matters to me is the match on November 4.

"These games will help me evaluate things. For example, in England and Germany we learned where we need to improve. There’s no point playing sides that are so much worse than you.

"It doesn’t matter to me if the players are a little out of shape in this competition as long as they are ready to go on August 26."

The manager, then, may give an unusual line-up a run-out as he prepares to finalise his tactics before the big league kickoff later this month.

It's not a friendly and you know it, Claudio.

I don't care what everybody says, it's just not a friendly.

Juventus-Napoli, that's a friendly.
