i agree mate! this is the end of taking things lightly!!! the performances HAVE to start from now on! these games have been enough to give the players enough time to know each other well. ranieri has to sit down and completely fix the problems in the coming week! we cannot rely on Iaquinta, ffs! DP n trez to start a usual and palla and zala for a subs. marchionni and camo need to resume playing ASAP! and we all know what the defence need to do!
well those players have to recuperate in the right amount of time.

Great point. People really overreact about what happens in pre-season which is when we're trying to work out the problems and get the squad to gel. I don't understand why people expect perfection right off the bat.

I'm not concerned with the score, I am really concerned with the performance, and it hasnt been there (minus the second half with Roma)
I don't think we are as bad as you are making out. We really miss Camo and his creativity.

The defence is better than I feared it would be, and will get better with Chiellini and some time to get more accustomed to each other.

Talk about knee jerk reactions. There are 9 new players in the team. It will take a while for the chemistry to set in. Just wait until we meet Milan in December. We will see a totally different Juve.

Del piero is leaving to Sunderland for 500 dollars . Apparently , roy keane and del piero have been very close for a long time . Roy keen wants del piero badly and is willing to do anything to get him to sunderland , even pay 500 dollars from his own money to get him . Juventus will be saying farewell to their legend .

I watched the game:

Buffon couldn't have done much, but what the hell was he doing towards the end with that horrible miscommunication that almost led to a goal?

Nedved was all over the place in the second half but was a bit slow making decisions

DP didn't do shit other than one chance that he took far too long on. He's just too old. Everytime he gets the ball it slows our entire offense down waiting for him to turn, take 10 touches for no reason, then either lose the ball or fall down. I honestly think he needs to retire after this season.

Maybe I was mistaken given the shitty quality of sopcast, but I thought we sold Olivera? Why the fuck didn't we?

Iaquinta actually got onto a few balls....then pissed them away.

Nocerino is like davids without the quality. He almost got red-carded in a bloody friendly.

I like almiron.

I keep asking myself "what the fuck did I just watch?"

What I saw is a Juve without ideas on offense, who were more than happy to chase Milan around the pitch as they passed around us, and a team that obviously cannot perform simple passes

Our offense rarely tested Dida...bar Tiago's shot at the end of the game. Where were the shots on net ? Where was any accurate passing in Milan's side of the field ? Were our outside mid's wearing slippers, because they couldn't cross the ball for shit !! Its been 3 damn games since we scored a goal...we have problems !!

Defensively, we again made some mistakes in marking that led to goals. Is Criscito the real deal...I dont know. But Molinaro isn't, and Andrade hasn't proven anything yet.

The whole team disappointed me except for Grygera. He should be our starter at RB, IMO

I know the excuse train will ride again with Ranieri as the engineer, but the season starts in 8 days, and we are not ready...hell no !!! The excuses have to end here !!

Our objective is to reach a CL spot, but does anyone here actually believe that our team is better than Lazio or Fiorentina...because that's who will be fighting for the last CL spot

At this point, I believe that even Palermo is better than our team, and a 8th place to 10th place finish is realistic for us

I have zero faith in Ranieri, and even less with this management...and this preseason proves it
Whoa, completely different perspective than I.

I don't think it's THAT BAD, but nobody said it's gonna be a comfortable ride this season. After all this is a new Juve, playing away versus the European Champions (minus Kaka')...with their star striker scoring twice simply coz he wasn't marked.

As for the chasing around bit, I think that's a bit harsh. I'd like to point out that there was less ability to read the game, and make some quick passes from the new boys. Del Piero and Nedved were all over the place, while the new boys were just trying to fit in and create some free-flow passing. Milan's defense was tough to break. Nesta and Kaladze were class. Pirlo-Gattuso-Seedorf in midfield...I mean really you can't expect it to be a walk in the park...

Don't worry, it won't be a sh*tty season for us. I have faith in Ranieri. There will be a few embarrassing moments, but they will gel, I'm sure of it...

My Review

Buffon played a quite nice game. Still, he is IMO to blame for the second goal, as he didn't put any player to the first and the second post! If there would have been players, we would have never conceeded that goal

Grygera was good in the beginning, but was invisible in the second half. Zebina will be a better option for the right back spot, as he is better in offense than Grygera

Andrade and Criscito played a good game, beside that one mistake they made when Pippo scored, cause they didn't know, who was the one to mark him. I guess, these are the mistakes that happen, when 2 new defenders are played next to eachother. Their understanding is not the best one at the moment, but you can see the potential. Still, we will need at least one more defender, cause our back ups are under average.

Molinaro played a decent game. His offensive play was okay and so was his defending. I think he is a good back up to Chiellini, who was really missing today

Brazzo played awfull. His passes were off target so were his crosses. Maybe right back is better for him, as he doesn't have the creativity nor the one on one skill to play as a right mid. Camoranesi and Machionni would have done much more here today

Nocerino and Almiron seem to be a very good partnership. Almiron had shown some signs of skill and class, but he is also missing the right understanding with his teammates. Once he knows the runways and the way the offensive players play, he will be world-class. Nocerino was great in defense and also well in offence, still he was lucky not to be sent off

Nedved was Nedved. Showed a lot of spirit and heart. Unlucky not to score.....I think he should play more in the middle. Thats simply his position

Del Piero showed that he still is World Class. Oddo was frustrated because of DP. He forms a good and creative duo with Palladino, who showed his skills again today. I liked Palla on the wing. A trident with Trez would be very interesting

Olivera....was Olivera. Determined, but his crosses are awfull.

Tiago was not really that good like Almiron, but his shot was brilliant. Unlucky not to score. Still, the way he runs into the box after he makes a pass to the outside is impressive. When he gets used to Italian football, he could become a really good and important player for Juve, but only if he adopts Italian football......

In the end, I still think, that the trident should be our line-up, untill we get either Camo or Marchionni back, cause the right flank was dead.

------------------Buffon-------------------
Zebina---Andrade---Criscito---Chiellini
----------Nocerino---Almiron------------
------------------Nedved-----------------
---Palladino---Trezeguet---Del Piero--

Edit: hhahaa, I forgot Iaquinta! Well, he was moving well around and got some balls on the flank, but why was he on the flank. He got the ball outside, and than played it back to the outside players. After that, we didn't have a big striker, who was waiting in the middle for a cross. So all in all, Iaquinta tried hard, but made pointless decisions!

I totally agree, but I would like to say that Nocerino has done a good job. He has a great presence that none of our CM's have in the central midfield. Nocerino is the real deal... That is about it. Ranieri is an overrated manager who can't make up his mind. This team needed an identity, and we have nothing but confusion heading into the season. Ranieri wasted a ton of time tinkering when he didn't need to. It isn't too hard to realize who are the starters and who aren't. We aren;t exactly a deep team. That is all I will say, I have to stuff my face.

He got 14 last season and when you take away penalties ;)
-2. the difference and why he wont score as much as trez. trez likes to stand still and pop up with quality finishing. iaquinta likes runinng and occasionally shooting and half the time he pisses that up the wall, but i think he'll do ok.

Did Nocerino have some overenthusiastic bursts again? As much as I love him as a future prospect, I really think he needs to anticipate more, otherwise he's gonna make some fatal mistakes during competitive matches.

Concerning Ranieri, I think it's way too soon to judge him.

one thing that i will never understand is how can a player, who has been playing football since childhood and who seems to practice it everyday... how can he not make a simple cross>? jst a cross and not a flying ball.. everyone who tried to cross in every pre-season matches except Ale and Neddy.. no one seemed to have a "cross target" they just sent ball to the direction of opponents goal.. pathetic!
get better, camo!
.
i really really do hope that Ranieri will play Neddy as central.. he's much usefull there..
.
Ale & Neddy were the best today.. and i saw how much zanetti means to us..

Ok, I used to like the guy, but I honestly just don't understand what the fuck Del Piero has done today that constitutes playing well.

He got the ball, slowed everything down, then fell down. Other than 1 nice cut + shot (which took too long), and a relatively nice free-kick, what the hell else did he do?

a nutmeg and this from channel 4:

Del Piero’s confidence was at an all-time high, as he repeatedly dribbled past sets of Rossoneri defenders, including a nutmeg on Oddo.

So you expect a manager to join a club and have figured out right from the start which players he's going to use in a certain situation, where he wants them to play, how he wants them to play, and how he wants the team to play as a whole? It just doesn't make sense. During friendlies btw, a team is SUPPOSED to try things out. If this is all you have to say, it's best you stuff your face indeed.

A pretty good assessment, but I would like to add a few things.

Grygera > Zebina

Criscito was left alone at the back way too much today. Where was Andrade on those through balls... he needs to stop his aggressive play.

I agree with the comment on Molinaro. Good backup to Chiellini who we are desperately missing his presence.

I don't think Almiron was that good today. Tiago outplayed him IMO, although I happen to hate how he passes the ball outside and runs to the box. He needs to make himself available to support more. That is exactly where he needs to adjust to Italian Football. He needs to stay back and make runs occasionally. But he did better tonight.

As I said when we first got him... Sali is in between RB and RM and will be a perfect backup.

DP was great for 60 minutes. Then he was tired. I don't think he can handle 90 minutes.

We will improve greatly when Chiellini, Camoranesi and especially Trezeguet return.

Last point... Nocerino is awesome. I hope he doesn't lose his grit. Gattuso gets away with a ton of the dirty plays Nocerino was involved in. When Nocerino builds up his name... the refs will be more lenient with him. I think he is needed on the field at all times.

Formation to start the season...

----------------------BUFFON

GRYGERA--ANDRADE--CRISCITO--CHIELLINI

----------------NOCERINO
---------------------------ALMIRON
CAMORANESI
-----------------------------------------NEDVED
---------------------------DEL PIERO
