a nutmeg and this from channel 4:

Del Piero’s confidence was at an all-time high, as he repeatedly dribbled past sets of Rossoneri defenders, including a nutmeg on Oddo.
Ok, this is my point:

What the fuck is the good of a nutmeg if immediately after he fell down and gave away the ball?

I don't care how many tricks he does if they don't accomplish shit. There's a difference between being entertaining and playing well....what did he do to benefit the team by performing a nutmeg?

Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, he's one of my favorite players ever, I just don't like seeing him keep playing and becoming useless, I'd rather that he retire on top. Nedved does much more for the team in his older years than Del Piero does, IMO.

So you expect a manager to join a club and have figured out right from the start which players he's going to use in a certain situation, where he wants them to play, how he wants them to play, and how he wants the team to play as a whole? It just doesn't make sense. During friendlies btw, a team is SUPPOSED to try things out. If this is all you have to say, it's best you stuff your face indeed.
Yes to the first part. Every manager knows that with a few tiny exceptions in terms of situational questions.

If we are still experimenting 1 game before the season, and you think that is ok... than you are totally delusional.

you are totally delusional to think we can easily beat milan and brush them off like we are the team from 2 years ago.

Did you see the game? He did dribbled past guys all over the field, but then he tried to dribble more and either fell down or simply lost the ball. It was rather lame, to be honest.

i hate that kinda players who always dribble without any benefit, but we both know that Ale isn't that ..
he never "overholds" the ball but sometimes there are moments when you need to stick with that round thing called ball and control it for some time..
today there was no one to deliver the ball to attack, pathetic passes & crosses and then came Alex to get in chief of everything and tried to do what was right..
and i think that he's a brilliant "faller" :D he does it so natural :D
all in all he participated in every single moment that may heve led to a goal..
and please don't think that he's finished coz he's definetly not!
.

by the way i didn't see the oddo nutmeg can anyone supply it to me? :D

i also didnt like the way he played today but to be fair he never was a fast player. today palla playedin DP usual position while DP played deep upfront as if he was trez which requires responsiveness and lacks space for dribbling. he playes best as second striker.

Kinda like C.Ronaldo when he wants to show his fancy dribbles, eventhough he's most efficient at passing a player by when he just accelerates.

Someone who has made up his mind right from the start, is per definition a bad manager to me.

Yes it's ok, as long as you have evaluated the former experiments, which I'm sure Ranieri has done.

I don't think Almiron was that good today. Tiago outplayed him IMO, although I happen to hate how he passes the ball outside and runs to the box. He needs to make himself available to support more. That is exactly where he needs to adjust to Italian Football. He needs to stay back and make runs occasionally. But he did better tonight.
Oh no, I think that Tiago`s running into middle was needed today, as Iaquinta and Palladino were droping to the outside, so there was noone in the box. So Tiago`s idea was great, the crossing was shiat!

I watched the whole match tonight and there are plenty of positives to take. The team is starting to gel, and should properly start playing a few games into the season. Milan were more organised and always looked like stepping up a gear, but thats the way they play against everyone. Once we gel and become more confident, this tie will be more evenly matched.

Buffon: Did not have much to do, held crosses well, not to blame for goals at close range. Made a HUGE error towards the end that gilardino could really have humiliated him on.

Grygera: Solid today, made good tackels and showed committment, he should be first-choice.

Andrade-Criscito: Both are good on the ball, and are becoming more confident together. They are both great tacklers and can read the game, but they cannot deal with crosses too well yet, Their aerial work needs to improve. Andrade should have scored on DP's cross.

Molinaro: Btter today, good on defense, passing was good. Good cover for Chiellini who is an obvious starter for me. Needs to impose himself more.

Nedved: Looked agitated in the first half and was making mistakes. Was inspired in the second half and i get the impression even when he plays bad, he is dangerous. Teams fear him, his committment is terrific and his passing and shooting are a danger. He is STILL the man

Almiron: Such an exciting prospect. His passing is excellent and his vision is better. Once he tunes in to the team and we gel as a side he will become crucial. Still liable to lose concentration, but should get better and better.

Nocerino: Some erratic fouls but that is largely because he is involved so much. He is our gattuso, he is never out of the action. You know when he is on the field. He needs to gain more consistency is his passing, crossing and shooting. Should become a great asset.

Brazzo: Another fighter, always in the action. Today not his best day. Weak crossing and lost some 50-50's. He is pure energy though and i suspect he will be a good player for us this season.

Tiago: Great improvement. His passing and control were evident today and was unlucky not to score a screamer. Milan could not disposses him and most of his passes connected. I expect him to keep improving.

Del Piero: Was producing some magic touches. He didn' t slow us down, he WAS our threat in attack. They had to keep fouling him and Pavel. At times it looked like he kept choosing the most adventurous option, but entertained and stressed the Milan defence.

Iaquinta: He will hold the ball up for us and should prove to be a really interesting different option for us. He is always looking for the pass and doesn't fade like Trezeguet. Had some bad control today and looked like his confidence was down, hopefully he can gain some throughout the season and improve for us.

Palladino: He has great skill and vision and was making great runs. I think he will be a great player for us one day. His touches were good, he can dribble and i think once he learns how to properly finish chances and become a more direct attacking threat, will become a great star. Ahead of Iaquinta in strikers order just now.
