Klose Ready For Barcelona Move
Reports coming out of Spain and Germany reveal that Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose is ready for a move to Barcelona.
With their chances of landing Diego Forlan and Diego Milito having run into some heavy weather, and Rodrigo Palacio's price proving prohibitive, Barcelona have turned their attention towards Germany, and in particular, Miroslav Klose.
Rijkaard is said to be an admirer of the German international, who has turned out against the Catalans four times in the last 18 months in the Champions League
His contract runs out next June, so Werder Bremen have little option but to let him go for a nominal fee, in order to avoid losing him for nothing, and that is also said to have made the Barcelona techical team move with more optimism.
Klose, in turn, is also said to have given his nod to the move, provided Barca can agree a price with Werder, with the Catalans' lure proving too strong to resist.
Discussions are expected to take place in the back-drop of the Uefa Cup semi-final clash between Thomas Schaaf's side and Barcelona's local rivals Espanyol.
It is being reported that a figure in the region of 5-7 million euros could well be enough to land him.
However, Barcelona also have their eyes on another striker plying his trade in the Bundesliga: Bayern Munich's Claudio Pizarro. The Peruvian is out of contract in the summer, making him a 'golden catch', so to speak.
He was also voted as the most favoured new striker by Barcelona fans in a poll carried out by El Mundo Deportivo, ahead of Milito, with Klose coming in third.
It is expected that Barca will face stiff competition from Juventus, who are also monitoring both the players.
