Only seen Huntelaar play a couple of times but he seems to "skinny" to replace a targetman like Trez. Just not convinced that he's strong enough for the job. Am I way off here??
Trez isn't exactly strong either....players like inzaghi and trezeguet are smart as they are good at positioning themselves well in the box. Inzaghi may be skinny but makes great runs and uses that to his advantage.

Huntelaar to me would be fine to replace trez in that sense, i guess the only concerns are whether he can cut it at a bigger club in a harder league. I believe he can, but there is always that risk.

In saying that though, im thinking the club will probably go for a more established finisher to be on the safe side.

Klose Ready For Barcelona Move

Reports coming out of Spain and Germany reveal that Werder Bremen's Miroslav Klose is ready for a move to Barcelona.

With their chances of landing Diego Forlan and Diego Milito having run into some heavy weather, and Rodrigo Palacio's price proving prohibitive, Barcelona have turned their attention towards Germany, and in particular, Miroslav Klose.

Rijkaard is said to be an admirer of the German international, who has turned out against the Catalans four times in the last 18 months in the Champions League

His contract runs out next June, so Werder Bremen have little option but to let him go for a nominal fee, in order to avoid losing him for nothing, and that is also said to have made the Barcelona techical team move with more optimism.

Klose, in turn, is also said to have given his nod to the move, provided Barca can agree a price with Werder, with the Catalans' lure proving too strong to resist.

Discussions are expected to take place in the back-drop of the Uefa Cup semi-final clash between Thomas Schaaf's side and Barcelona's local rivals Espanyol.

It is being reported that a figure in the region of 5-7 million euros could well be enough to land him.

However, Barcelona also have their eyes on another striker plying his trade in the Bundesliga: Bayern Munich's Claudio Pizarro. The Peruvian is out of contract in the summer, making him a 'golden catch', so to speak.

He was also voted as the most favoured new striker by Barcelona fans in a poll carried out by El Mundo Deportivo, ahead of Milito, with Klose coming in third.

It is expected that Barca will face stiff competition from Juventus, who are also monitoring both the players.

Barca don't need Klose - I don't believe they will get him...

I think Juve should make a very good offer to Klose - He's so effective (world cup top scorer) x2 and we could use a big guy in front especially if Trezegoal decides to leave...

I think if Barca get Klose they will keep their one striker system and play a rotation policy. also they are woried if Eto gets injurded again they will be screwed. Eto and Klose are similar in the way they are both great finishers and can play as a lone striker. They also both like to come in from the left so they can work with dhino and messi canrun in from the right.

I don't see them playing togeather very often.

Barca want to have cover in the striker position and Savila is great but isn ot as physical a center forward they wan, Eidur is good too but not as letha a finisher. so they will lose those two guys and bring in klose. I am not sure Eto will respond kindly to the increase in competition for his starting spot or that he will like being rested but i don't think he will leave this year. although Liverpool like him and he likes them, and he also often praises Arsenal and their coach.

I think Maxi Lopez is also returing to barca from his loan and will be their 3rd striker

If we can't get Klose that is fine. He is a great player but there are others out there and we already got Trez who will be back to his old self once we make it back to Serie A . Saviola would be a great buy but how much would he play? and what system would we use? or would he just become "an asset" like Micolli?

imagine Eto´o & Klose as strikers and behind them R10 & Messi...
---------Klose--------Eto´o--------

Ronaldinho-------------------Messi

-----------DM---------DM-----------

That would be nice, but Barcelona would have to get rid of Deco then as he is also attacking midfielder and they would have to buy 2 world class defensive midfielders.

Anyways, I don´t think this would work, it looks frightening but it´s a bit too offensive. Also, I don´t believe Klose and Eto´o could work well together, they are too similar.

yeah i feel the same. I think the way they knock around the ball though and like to have flair in their central mid it is best for them to keep playing with 3 central mids (one hardcore defensive one, one overall one who is a good passer and holder of the ball, and one attacking one who has creativity). I think they should therefore keep Deco and play one of eto or klose depending on form and fitness or rotate them

I hear Barca are locking down ALbelda, that would be huge cuz he is one of the best DM's around. He wins the bll so easily and can start counter attacks. Barca's current DMs (motta and edmilson) take away a great opportunity from their attack because they rarely win the ball cleanly without fouling so they can not start fast counters thorugh Dhino, Messi, Deco. With Albelda I think Barca will be rediculously strong.

It makes me sad because I like Valencia in spain and he is their Captain and has been there his whole career. Carboni is making a real mess over there in regars to contracts and extensions. Albelda only makes something like 1 million a year and wants a raise seeing how he is 29 or 30 and one of their most inmportant players yet Carboni is being a fool and Barca are trying to snatch him.

if they got albeda barca could look like this

--------Klose/Eto

Dhino--------------Messi
---------Deco-------------

----Albelda--Iniesta-----

with xavi coming in for iniesta maby?

And Klose to barca might agan be less likely since this is the latest on barca:

Barcelona close to agreement for Racing Santander's Zigic

Barcelona are keen to strike an agreement with Racing Santander for striker Nikola Zigic.
Santander sources indicate a deal is all but done over a fee between £8 million and £10 million for the giant centre-forward.

Barca sports director Txiki Begiristain has been driving the bid, with him convincing coach Frank Rijkaard and fellow technical staff about the value of Zigic after several rounds of meetings, says AS.

Zigic, who only joined Racing in August, is aware of negotiations and keen on the switch to Barca.

This is from tribal, but other side (in Dutch) also say it so I guess it is correct.

Klose might still be headed to Juve is Trez leaves.
