Not that I approve of Juve management giving any false promises to players (that sets a very bad precedent/team morale if true)...

But if Trez only blasted a few more goals that weren't necessarily spot-placed on his forehead (his total time of posession this season was what? 26 seconds?), it's very unlikely that he'd be blasting Juve management now.

Damn right :fero:

Speaking of the management, I have a nagging suspicion that they screwed Deschamps now. It really wouldn't surprise me if it were true what has been reported that a deal has been agreed with him months ago, he's been promised a contract. And now Capello is willing so they drop Deschamps and hire Don Fabio.

Stranger things have happened.
Deschamps was indeed screwed. I feel very sorry for him. Moggi could have picked anyone else to pull the bluff on but of all people, he had to chose one of our very own to mess around with. In terms of conduct, something is very wrong with the way the club is run. That Capello, for all he represented with Milan and Roma, was chosen is simply adding insult to injury. I have serious doubts DD will ever take up the Juve job again even if it was available ... not as long as the current management is still running the show that is.

No matter how much he may win here, Capello will always be a twat for what he said about Juve before. For whatever fault Lippi possessed, at least he had more integrity. I can't bring myself to say welcome but neither do I wish him ill at the expense of the club. I can only hope he does his job properly and piss off after 3 years or less ... the sooner the better.

Hmm I don't know about the Deschamps being screwed theory. DD never really admitted that there was interest from Juve and I guess if he was screwed up he would have already spoken by now. I doubt Juve would do that to him, cos anyway he will eventually become a Juve coach in the future.

but he did speak.he said after we appointed capello that he was sure of putting pen to paper in a few days when the news was announced.so i'm sure he had some contact with moggi.

Exactly. It's merely a formality now. Trez wants to leave, we (the management) want him gone, so just get it over with ffs.

Trez scores and that's that. He gets the job DONE.

Please don't go; David :frown:

He scores to Empoli,Ancona and co. and when he is really required to score...he fails. He didnt scored in any derby game this season (do not count the last lazio game....things were decided then)

All things being equal, if I had to choose between Trez and Vieri, I would take Trez 10 out of 10 times. But if Trez is going to leave, then I would much rather have Zlatan than Vieri any day. Zlatan is much much younger, and is a far more creative player than Vieri, and wouldn't need to rely on support so much if things fail around him,Unlike Trez or Vieri, who would basically stand there like a statue all game long and wait for something to come to them.

I'm sorry to see Trez go, but its past the point of no return.

Id have to disagree with that. Vieri definitely has a little more game to him than Inzaghi or Trezeguet. He ca dribble and his burly frame helps him do more than just stand around waiting for the ball to come to him.

hare hare.... you speak as if the goal scoring job is David Trezeguet's alone... even if he scores alot of goals and make the most of the little chance he had doesnt mean we must burden that respeonsibility on him alone... beside, dont you see that our failure to score in big games more bcoz of failure in the creativity department?... we used two kind of forward to optimize and varietize our goals coring chances... i dun see you ever bashed Del Piero when its clear that when the road to Trezeguet is blocked, the goal scoring resposibility should now shift his way.... now thast very much double standard there dont you think?

That being said, I would still rather have Ibrahimovic than Vieri. The more young stars Juve can bring in, the better. However, I may have been a little harsh in my assesment of Vieri, if only for the fact that i'm not one of his biggest supporters.

Agreed. His physical presence alone is enough to intimidate defenders.

Now that Trezeguet will probably leave, its starting to hit me that maybe we should have renewed his contract. I think Capello's system would work in favor of David, with a strong wing presence for service outside and a natural playmaker behind the front runners. I will miss the way Trez is usually in a good position, even though he does miss some chances. But who doesn't really? I guess if Trez leaves, we should buy Vieri and Zlatan this summer, just so we don't have to worry about finding a replacement for Vieri next summer.

Vieri and Zlatan would be good because in Ibrahimovic we have someone who can play both as a frontman and a creative forward, so in essence he could replace Trez (or Vieri) and Del Piero in a matter of seasons.
