yup 18.

there are plans to change it, some want it to be changed to 14, others to 20....

I don't have a clue of how that is supposed to affect the quality of the football...

btw, anyone saw images of the classic Anderlecht-Brugge of this sunday? great match. it ended 2-2.... and Standard are now lading with 3 points :dazed:

hows AZ doing this year?
They've been quite impressive; their attack is scoring goals like an automatic machine gun and their defense is holding up well in retrospect.

No mental issues either; solid as a rock. Coming back from losing 5-3 in Russia to Krylia Sovetov to beating them at home 3-1 and progress to the next stages in the UEFAcup clearly testifies of a great team spirit.

They could go far; I'm predicting Champions League for them now that we have the new play-off system in Holland. PSV will be champions; AZ will beat Feyenoord and Ajax to the CL through the play-offs.

That would be perfect timing as well as I think their new stadium is supposed to be ready this summer:

Hopefully. Their current stadium doesn't even meet UEFA standards :D

Yeah I heard about AA Gent, Club and Anderlecht (Heizel? :undecide: )

We have quite some stadiums being built in Holland as we speak.

AZ Alkmaar:

FC Groningen:

ADO Den Haag (The Hague)

SC Heerenveen are also preparing to expand their existing stadium and last time I checked, PSV are also looking to expand.

Of course FC Utrecht and others have already completed their new stadiums several years ago. Seems like the future for Dutch football is quite alright :touched:

pfff... I'm jealous.

Anderlecht is still hesitating between a completely new stadium and renovating the stade Roi Baudouin (ex-heysel), problem is the running track that has to be kept for the "Memorial Van Damme" athletic meeting...

Van Damme? That kinda sucks...

Hey have you heard about the plans to land a World Cup in our two nations soon? That would lead to some massive new stadiums I bet

I'd like that, man. We so missed the occasion with Euro2000, only renovating 3 stadiums, that was quite poor...

and... Belgium would play the WC! hey, that's a nice way to solve our problems!

btw, what about the "BeNeLeague"? is this definitively over?

Nobody in Holland wants it. Plus we have a play-off system now that's supposed to make us more competitive :undecide: So it's unlikely anything else will be changed soon
