actually at the time, the feeling was very mutual. the british and french were the top two powers in europe in every way. they had the two best militaries and the two best generals in europe in bonaparte and wellington. the british would refer to the fench as frogs and the french would refer to the british as god damns on account of their language under fire. after napoleons eventual defeat the french were bludgeoned by the rest of europe and even indochina up until the 98 world cup when they became 1 for 200 in world confilcts. the french indifference today in the rivalry is more do to them getting beat by everyone else not them being super nice people.
oh and the belguins absolutely sucked. they spent most of the war on the side of napoleon up until the battle at waterloo. there they were under command of the prince of orange. a dutch bastard who many believed to be slightly if not more retarded. at waterloo the belguin infantry and calvary could not fight there former emperor and were rendered useless.
