was one of the songs i was thinking of putting in but did not sit and think through completely, same iwas gonna put in the who -my generation ,oasis -live forever ,fleetwood mac -the chain all classics but to someone else they wont think so
im surprised not even a single person mentioned 'while my guitar gently weeps' by the beatles,or some songs by the rolling stones..
or some songs by black sabbath or deep purple.
Since I'm not really a rock-person, I have these songs close to my mind. My top 5, more will come later on when I find my Rock albums...

CBC radio (the canadian version of the BBC...) did a huge profile on the best/most important songs since the 20's. I'm sure theres a link to it somewhere on their website about it. If you have no luck finding it, I'm sure I can get if for you.
It was a great program, anyhow.
As cheesy as Kiss was (is), I was still a fan of them way back when. I gotta say, "Rock N Roll All Night" is a pretty fundamental rock song.
But it did make me laugh to hear it while grocery shopping in the Safeway in SF's Lower Mission a couple weeks back. The supermarket was filled with my Latino homies buying Our Lady of Guadalupe votive candles and my Asian homies buying Long Kow Bean-Thread -- rocking out to the sounds of Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Kind of surreal...

yup, and if you're gonna remember Pink floyd with "wish you were here" then i rellay dont know what to tell you, maybe just maybe you;re missing the point here.
