I don't Know Why most of you think Davids is more important to our midfield than Tacchi. If you don't know what I mean go watch both Man Utd games.

I can see why all of you agreed on the fact that Nedved is the most important player but this due to the fact that we don't have a Good back up player to play in his position when he is injured.and the whole tactic depends on him.

As for buffon i Can say one thing which is the GK equals half the team. What Toldo Did in Valencia Game in CL says everything......

I agree with you about the keeper
and Toldo against Valencia was a magician, I can't believe a guy has that kind of a day
and even when they plaed Valencia in UEFA Cup a season before in a game in Valencia he was just awsome and awsome

The point about the keeper is very good. It was Buffon who effectively kept us in the running for the final by saving Figo's penalty.
And Toldo does seem to do that, his performance against Holland in the SF was amazing.

My top 5:

1. Pavel - No question about it!
2. Gigi - Last line of Defense!
3. Lillian - IMHO, the absolute best.
4. Edgar - Did you see the difference in our midfield vs Real with him?????
5. Zambrotta - I have dogged him all season, and he proved me wrong!!!Great player, totally outclassed RC.

Maybe to name five most important for the entire season is not too many. but i 'd rather pick three only as i can't differentiate the others' contribution.

1. Nedved
2. Buffon
3. Zambrotta

This year's success is contributed by the unbreakable defense and the high efficiency in attack.

these three guys account for the success. I would like to highlight how i am impressed with the performance by Zambro this year. After a few years settling in, he shows the world that he is the most talented young player among europe. he outclassed the greats like Figo and Carlos in the CL. His pace and technique eliminate defenders' hope of getting the ball from him. He provides quality crosses in many important games throughout the season. More surprisingly, he was also spectacular as a left back too. as i remember, in Euro 2000, he jas didn't know how to defend but only foul. i questioned his ability in defending even at the start of the past season. His performance jas prove me wrong. perhaps the only mistake is the one vs Man Utd.

He is now an unvaluable asset of juventus, so of the nazionale.

Marac, welcome to the forums, and i totaly agree with you about zambrotta, he is quickly becoming my favourite player, and he will next season, be a VERY vital part of juve, and will become the super star he is destined to be. Just watching him play is exciting, hes got so many tricks and moves its amazing, i dont know why he doesnt get any international recognition.

3. Zambrotta
IMO Del Piero, Tacchinardi and Thuram have all had better seasons than Zambrotta for one simple reason - consistency. Since the winter break, Zambro has definitely been our most outstanding player, but what did he do before that? Before that he was hardly playing due to Camoranesi's superiority, and he only then got his opportunity when players were struggling with injuries. DP on the other hand, was one of the hottest players on the world stage at the beginning of the season, and in the final stretch of the campaign, though he was clearly out of form, he scored crucial goals for us against Roma and Brescia, and put in a simply brilliant performance in the CL semifinal second leg against Real. Tacchinardi has been another consistent performer this season, holding together our midfield, contributing in attacks, and scoring goals as well, while Thuram has been amazing game in, game out.

Grazie, Persian

i totally agree that DP, Tacchi and Thuram had a very good season too.

as for Zambrotta, i wondered how he help juve in a number of games with his sole effort, like the cross he did in Udinese game. Also, i am really convinced that he can combine with every one in the team well. that's why he can fit into any position he was asked to. so far, thuram and camoranesi don't make one good combination on the right.

in some games, when we have nedved or dp missed, zambrotta gave the team the winning element.

i start to accept Tacchi in the first team after this season. he became much maturer. act as a very good cover in front of the defense line and fine supporter to the attack. he is definitely better than di biagio and C.zanetti or even the energetic tommasi this season. he is more than deserved to start in the nazionale.

1. Nedved (irreplaceable; the whole season i's boastin abt how we try not to depend on any player bt no1 could fill in for him)

2. Thuram (after Buffon he probably played more than the other players during the season; that shows his importance)

3. Buffon (he proved to be worth what was paid for him)

4. Davids (as always reliable, the pitbull on the pitch then opponents start to fear his aggression; recall the Madrid game in Turin he bullied their midfield)

5. DP/Zambr (i'm not sure who my ideal pick would be here coz it is alwayz important to have a playa who moves into top gear in the last half of the season to ensure that the team keeps its consistency and Zambr gave us that and there was no way Camo would replace him judging from the last games AND DP was the capt and he led well

Buffon
Davids
Del Piero
Nedved
Trezeguet

Buffon is undoubtly the worlds best goalkeeper! No one can beat that guy!

Davids is a running machine :D! He works like a real non-stop machine! We can't ever replace him!

Del Piero is a very excellent creative player! He is just awsome! He is the heart of Turin!

Nedved is a real warrior! What an excellent season! Who's Zidane :D:confused::D?

We really surfered when he wasn't in the pitch! We lacked in attack against Barcelona but somehow recovered and did it ok! Trezeguet showed his class against Real madrid! He simply crushed them :fero::D!

BTW... Zambrotta could also be in my list! He is just awsome! He ran like a horse in some occations :D!
