wouldn't you be if they made caricatures of a revered person in you religion? Muslims are generally moderate people, but making cartoons of the Holy Prophet with a bomb on his head is not my idea of satire
I don't buy that argument, really. A Jesus caricature has made regular appearances in episodes of
South Park, and nobody called for death threats. In fact, even in this country of psychotic Christians, I'm actually a bit surprised that no one has even called for a boycott.
But I think we're talking about specific Muslims here -- the kind that have little information flow from the "outside world". For them, religious satire almost seems unheard of. Most Muslims I know just shrugged it off, but that's likely because in order to be exposed to some chump in San Francisco like me, they've perhaps experienced a bit more of the world and have more of a perspective.
A lot of it is about exposure. As a counter example, I remember the huge Christian boycott and freak-out here over the release of the Martin Scorsese/Willem Dafoe movie
The Last Temptation of Christ. Turns out that all the people who freaked out about it had never bothered to see it.
