Though some (many not even on these forums) would also argue that things could be far, far worse if the roles of Croatia and Turkey were reversed last night.
No doubt about it lol

Man, tbph if there was a team that I wouldn't mind Turkey losing to it would be Croatia (apart from Italy, obfiousley),
they're just cool, smth about Croatians is naturally cool, and their coach is just pimp :D

Muslims are easily offended, as seen with the Danish stuff.

Word to Vlatko. I've gone crazy over losses as well, perhaps have looked to have some racist overtones, but I think saying someone is racist because of drunken comments is misunderstanding the situation and the person, especially if you don't personally know the person.

For the last time, I don't like you. Stop acting as if I don't like you because you're muslim and finally start taking it personally.

And don't forgive people. You're in no position to do as such. And to be honest, Lou, neither are christians. God's the one who forgives. Christians just shut up and don't talk about each other's sins. Which is why you get to do whatever it is you do with little Liam from next door without anyone ever saying anything about it.

There is also no muslim race, but implying there is one is quite racist, Alen ;).
I didnt know that you didnt like me actually. Its just that i think your an ass that needs an internet forum to feel superior.

Do the world a favor and jump of a cliff.

wouldn't you be if they made caricatures of a revered person in you religion? Muslims are generally moderate people, but making cartoons of the Holy Prophet with a bomb on his head is not my idea of satire

I would say Muslims probably are more sensitive.

Folk make fun of religion all the time, but other religions don't feel the need to riot about it.

I hadn't realised that Nancy was infact a Goddess who formed part of a religion.

I haven't been aware of you burning effagies of any of the members who mocked her though.

I don't buy that argument, really. A Jesus caricature has made regular appearances in episodes of South Park, and nobody called for death threats. In fact, even in this country of psychotic Christians, I'm actually a bit surprised that no one has even called for a boycott.

But I think we're talking about specific Muslims here -- the kind that have little information flow from the "outside world". For them, religious satire almost seems unheard of. Most Muslims I know just shrugged it off, but that's likely because in order to be exposed to some chump in San Francisco like me, they've perhaps experienced a bit more of the world and have more of a perspective.

A lot of it is about exposure. As a counter example, I remember the huge Christian boycott and freak-out here over the release of the Martin Scorsese/Willem Dafoe movie The Last Temptation of Christ. Turns out that all the people who freaked out about it had never bothered to see it.

Good example on the south park thing Greg.... I was wondering also when I watched that, I was like if only everyone would accept these kind of things in a civilized way. If only...
