I have no idea what happened. But actually I think Seven makes a great point. I think if you insulted muslims, even after a few beers or out of frustration or whatnots, that doesnt exactly make you a racist per se or whatever - but it does show that the sentiment is there, however vague.

And to me, that's okay. I think it's naive if people think we're all not racists and deny that sentiments like these exist. After all the history and wars and on goings in this world how can you NOT feel anything? It's just a matter of control and rationalizing with yourself and respecting one another on a day to day basis, like you with your Muslim friend, and you've never insulted Muslims on this forum and respect their POVs as far as I know. So yea you slipped up but you say sorry, which is great and all's forgiven.

I'm saying this, because though this is shameful and wrong it's the truth, (and it's a common practice in Malaysia) - we have 3 main races in the country, and though we are interracial and mix really well at an individual basis .. the bigger picture is not so rosy. There's a generalization that the chinese malaysians are irritatingly competitive and rude, so when I drive, likewise with other people, and some chinese guy cuts me off and we get pissed and we'll start saying something like "fucking chinese!" etc. Does that make me a racist? In a way, yes. But do I respect them any less or treat them differently? No, in fact my best friends are Chinese. But there's that sentiment there somewhere.

For the last time, I don't like you. Stop acting as if I don't like you because you're muslim and finally start taking it personally.

And don't forgive people. You're in no position to do as such. And to be honest, Lou, neither are christians. God's the one who forgives. Christians just shut up and don't talk about each other's sins. Which is why you get to do whatever it is you do with little Liam from next door without anyone ever saying anything about it.

There is also no muslim race, but implying there is one is quite racist, Alen ;).

Hmmm, yeah, bad choice of words.
Actually, i'm much closer to you in my personal beliefs, although you're much more radical and i disagree about some of your views.
I hope i won't touch a soft spot, but i really can't understand why do some of the muslims HERE (in these forums, so don't take it as generalization) often call for racism when someone writes a post that criticizes something connected to Islam.
It gives an impression as if you're opressed, undervalued 2nd category citizens which certainly isn't true.

Because the term "racism" is an umbrella term for various forms of discrimination and it's just convenient to use one word to include everything, instead of specifying that it's nationalism or fascism or gayism (is that a word?) or whatever.

Not the correct use, no, but the colloquial one.

I dont know what you said, and when when I checked up, every thing you said seemed to have been in croatian. But yesterday was a fucked up unique sitaution, unless you really went overboard, its understandable to lose ones cool after an insanely heartbreaking ending like that. You are usually a cool guy from what one have noticed, so one uncharacteristic outburst isnt much.

The cros I know personally, even the really nice and docile ones, went totally emotionally bezerk yesterday (called them and they were really emotional wrecks as I have never seen before), so it was quite a fucked up gutting experience regardless of who you are last night (though being "racist" in any circumstances is uncool).

Sorry.

I've been on this forum for a number of years and I believe I get on with the most of you. I don't think I've ever stooped so low here and attacked people because of nothing (practically), so I apologise.

I really don't know what I achieved to make mysel feel better by attacking people on the internet, but we don't have much muslims here in Zagreb so...it was either that or take it out on the city's public transportation like the rest of the idiots. I believe I made the correct choice. :D

All in all, it was a horrible night with lots of beer and in the end, lots of desperation. I'm sure most of you understand me and believe me when I say; I've nothing against muslims or anyone(except m_elayyan) and I'm sorry for being a jerk.
I do not know what you said nor would it have offended me because I am not a Muslim. But I like you and would forgive you if I was a Muslim. I'm assuming this had something to do with the defeat against Turkey last night? I know how emotional defeats can get (I almost went postal after the U.S. lost to Germany in 2002) so no matter what you said after the defeat I don't think you should be judged for that night, and at least you had the decency to apologize which is more than most of the other members here would have done. Smoke up a fatty it'll make you feel better.:spliff:

Well, to be truthful, guys, vlatko is apologizing for what he posted about Turks and people in Turkey -- not necessarily about Muslims at all per se (though some might debate that).

Still, that issue has past. Let's move on. I'm actually really impressed that vlatko showed the balls to come out an apologize for it. To be honest, it probably wasn't all that necessary since the thread was deleted right away, but it's a classy gesture.

Word to you, mate.

I  vlatko.
