Its not so much the results. It is more of our in game performances. Things we probably learn in training. Movement, link up play, the 1-2s. I didn't see it with Tevez-Llorente in attack either. They suffered from a problem we had last year too. Nothing to link the mid to them. Sassulo completely outplayed us, even moreso than Milan. You could put that down to enthusiasm, but also the fact that we were making basic mistakes and not showing any signs of new ideas learnt over the past two weeks. Like I mentioned earlier. If you compare this wi our performances in the past tim editions under Conte. You'd find, we may not have won, but we had a flair and signs of what was to come in those matches. Admittedly, we are missing our entire midfield save Vidal and we've got a defense on holiday, so a lot of that will of course make a difference. But we still had the personnel that could and should have taken the game to a team like Sassoulo, not the other way round. Don't care about the result. It was about our overall play that lacked inspiration and technique.
Dude, c'mon.

No, I genuinely wanted us to mix things up a bit more. We are assuming that Pirlo and co. will return and the 352 will remain the answer. Genuinely expect more of this team seeing the amount of talent we now have. Versatility is key if we are to retain a scudetto and fight in Europe. When we are being outrun and outplayed, we need to be prepared to try something different. I think we are a bit overconfident going into the new season. With an attacking star in the ranks, we are assuming its going to be a walk in the park.

Only saw about the last twenty minutes of Juve-Milan.

Wasn't anything terribly interesting in it, I didn't think.

Both teams playing with the same broad patterns as they did last season.

Juve's 3-5-2 still looking tremendously awkward against Milan - Allegri seems to be the coach in Italy with the greatest understanding of how to make things difficult for Juve.

Wouldn't read to much into that or whether Conte has thought of any adjustments to make for games against Milan as I wouldn't expect him to show them to Milan in a meaningless kickabout.

Pirlo is Juventus. Without him we suck and I hate that so much. WE are far too reliable on Pirlo and when he doesnt show up no one will. We need to get rid of this dpl. We need a formation where Pirlo isnt the only outlet for ideas. We need to stick tactics and get a player like Bonaventura who can allow us to play with an am or play as a trequartista and or winger
agree, conte should think about creating a new tactics for Pirloless formation

Damn it was so hard to watch. It's understandable we didn't have fresh legs but we were pushed back to the defense by both teams. 3-5-2 looks like 5-3-2 or even 5-4-1. I hate this formation. We're sitting too deep and we lack width with it. I hope somehow Conte realizes this and goes back to the 4-3-3. We used to play beautiful football with that formation and I want it back :D

This is still set and test, after a tough training camp of double training sessions. I am pretty sure Conte drilled the squad like never before. So just don't overinterpret these games. Despite that, we have never performed well in this competition.
