Tiago wants Juve future

Tiago Mendes has gone back on his threat to quit Juventus in January. “My future is here. I had a difficult start, but I’m finding consistency.”

The Portuguese international was the big summer buy from Olympique Lyonnais, but has struggled to make an impact in Turin.

After finding himself third or even fourth choice behind Sergio Almiron, Cristiano Zanetti and Antonio Nocerino, he threatened to walk out if he was not given more first team football.

“I just said what was in my heart,” he told Sky Italia television. “Claudio Ranieri quite rightly answered back, but I did not take the club’s fine well.

“I respect their decision to fine me, but I don’t think I said anything that bad. My rapport with teammates is very good, as I have settled in well now. My only problems were physical.”

Since that outburst Tiago has been given more space in the squad that is challenging for the Scudetto post-Calciopoli.

“In the past three games I have played more. It could be my moment, I am working hard and feel in good shape. The choice, ultimately, belongs to the Coach.”

There had been strong reports that Barcelona were preparing a mid-season swoop for the unsettled midfielder.

“I am pleased to hear of interest from great clubs, but for now I am only concentrated on Juve and getting the best out of myself in this shirt. We’ll see what happens in January, but as far as I am concerned, my future is here.”

In Tiago's last start, he had more accurate and killer service from our forward midfield than we had had in 6-7 games prior with all the others near that role.

We gotta find a way to get that boy playing...

Another proof that everything was blew out of proportion. And finally Carlo Garganese is not writing the article.

Tiago was in a poor form and that is the reason he wasn´t playing much and thus he was a litle bit disappointed.

As soon as he decided to work harder he improved his condition and started to impress on the pitch and now the transfer talk has cooled. With this attitude he surely gave himself more credit. Now Ranieri almost has no choice but to let him play more. And he offers us something Nocerino, Almiron and Zanetti can´t.

It seems our board was honest when they said they count on Tiago and that he needs time.

I hope ge gets even more chances and further impress Ranieri.

Cobolli today when arriving at Lega Calcio: I have full confidence in Tiago. I'm sure he'll become a key playr for our midfielfd.
Almiron? His destiny is not linked with Tiago's.

This is like the 5th time Cobolli states something like this about Tiago.

Juve Reciprocate Tiago Faith

Juventus supremo Giovanni Cobolli Gigli has commended Tiago Mendes for withdrawing his quit threat and in doing so assured that Portuguese midfielder that he would be getting a fair bite at the apple.

The ex-Chelsea midfielder has largely been disappointing since joining the Bianconeri from Lyon in the summer, but rather than act on the ample interest in his services from abroad, he has vowed to roll up his sleeves and earn his place.

Cobolli Gigli said: “I’m happy with what Tiago has said. He has had a tough start, but I have complete faith in him.

“I think that he will become a fixture in our midfield in the future. As for Sergio Almiron, I don’t agree that one of him or Tiago must leave.”

Argentine midfielder Almiron, as well, has struggled to settle in his first six months in Turin, but talk of a possible move to the Bundesliga will have been taken down a couple of notches after the Bianconeri boss’ latest comments.

Cobolli Gigli also addressed the bad luck that Juve been having with referees this season in some people’s opinion, but commendably took a philosophical view rather than a controversial one.

“There were two games where we suffered due to mistakes from officials – against Napoli and Parma,” he pointed out.

“But it happens to everyone and it’s our job to make sure that they mean less generally.”

These are the kind of statements I expect to see from a Juve director, not to go & cry like babies & make pieces of shit like Zamparini make fun of us.

This is how all the players & directors should adress the press.

Tiago Sees Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Troubled Juventus midfielder Tiago is feeling more confident about his future in Turin after a very disappointing start to his career in Serie A.

Tiago has once again declared that he has no intention of leaving the Bianconeri after managing to find more space in the first eleven in the past weeks.

"Lately I'm playing more and things are going better," said the former Olympique Lyon midfielder to 'Ojogo'. "Everyone is starting to look at me with different eyes. If the situation continues like this, it means that everything is going well.

"I'm feeling more part of this group," he continued. "The coach is playing me more and this helps me a lot.

"It's obvious that I still haven't reached the objectives I had set for myself, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel."

Even President Cobolli Gigli expressed his confidence in the Portuguese player's qualities on Thursday.

"It's an important demonstration of trust which proves that things are improving," declared Tiago.

Gigli:“In January we will not be selling anybody, and this includes Almiron and Tiago, who we consider to be champions. Ranieri has shown recently that he has high estimations of both of them.

“The championship is long, and even though we do not have the cups to worry about, we will need to utilise everyone we have.”

TBH, Almiron is useless. Tiago on first option.
