I guess Tiago wasn't a Ranieri pickup in Chelsea.
My guess is he saw something in Tiago that made him think he could be a superstar in Italy. Once he got him there, he realized that he's just not the right player. Luckily, Zanetti and Nocerino have stepped up.
I have a feeling in light of Blanc's comments that the Tiago experiment ends in January.

He realized this from one lousy match against a crappy team,this makes no sense.
I still have great faith that Ranieri will finally give him the chance & that he will step up & be one of the most important players in our team.
We were never the kind of team who ruin players & hopefully we will never be.

hmm well from what i have seen of Tiago i think he is a good player but in terms of character he seems to be spineless and weak
He has no fight
He wants things on a platter. He was upset that he was not an automatic starter at Chelsea and when they got Essien he asked his he could go the other way cuz he felt he would not get playing time. He is afraid of a fight and lacks confidence. He came here thinking he would be first choice. What a pathetic excuse to join a team like Juventus. At least players like Leggro and Boumsong know that you have to preform to play and they at least attempt to fight for a place. Tiago is being kept out of the team by an inexperienced player, Nocerino, yet he does not have the balls to put up a fight ? or even wait a whole season to try to make an impact?
This is not the mentality of a champion and we should wash out hands of Tiago.
Let Nocerino and Almiron battle for his spot.

I'm not sure if Nocerino is really that offensive minded. He can venture forward rather well, but I see him more as an all-action midfielder who can provide the bite in midfield we need. I'd rather mold him to that defensive side of midfield as that is where I think he'd excel, much more than out on a wing like Ranieri likes to deploy him (idiotic).

Tiago was offered to Lyon as part of the Essien deal, cause Lyon specifically asked for him to replace the departing Essien, i'm sure Tiago would have remained at Chelsea if he hadn't been asked to leave. I don't see how someone "spineless" could be a fan favourite and the two clubs he was at, i.e. Chelsea and Lyon
Yeah I guess you are right and the most recent player to do that was Zebina. Thats more about the personality of the players and the messages that the coach sends out day in day out coupled with the assurances of their roles in the team.
Another thing we have to point is that just like Dominic said, Ranieri is that man that sees the players day in and day out. Tiago had fitness problems since the pre season and he even admitted that. Ranieri is concerned first with getting his best team out and getting the results.If that team doesn't include Tiago or Almiron or Alex then so be it. We saw that even Almiron didn't get many chances, as Ranieri knows which players would give the desired result on the field.

Sorry, sateeh, but since when does a professional footballer have chronic fitness problems without any sort of injury? It just doesn't make any sense. Tiago hasn't had any serious injury problems so this current rhetoric is all blowing shit in the wind as far as I am concerned. If Tiago is fit he should be given a chance, and I sort of agree with Tiago if he has come out to say he's been neglected. I have followed this player more than most have and I believe him when he says he's ready but doesnt get a start.
