i think tiago should have his chance at juve's formation...as at the last match we had he played in a great form(parma-juventus 3rd round od coppa italia) and i thought that ranieri would give him his chance in the next game but i thought wrong....i hate the fact that ranieri is playing zanneti despite the fact that he sucks>>>
he is slow and he doesnt do the marking very well...:(

If we can get most of the 13 million we paid for him, then I'm all for it. I'm sure we can make use of those 13 million for the likes of Van de Vaart. I know it will probably cost more for Van de Vaart, but the midfield of Zanetti/Nocerino, Van de Vaart, and Camoranesi and Marchionni on the flank will be pretty formidable.
I don´t think VDV is what we need. I would rather like to see a Gerrard type of player. I don´t have anything against VDV though. Infact I like him a lot. But he is an AMC and he needs a lot of freedom and that would require changing the formation, similar to the one in Zidane days, except for 3 defenders in the back-line.

This mean 1 million opponents
:D Good one.

 WTF are you on about? Tiago played a great match against Parma? Zanetti sucks? :howler: FFS he has been our best midfielder so far.

How old are you, son?

I really think Tiago should be given a fair shake to prove his worth before getting shipped out.

A swap deal for Luisao may not be a bad move though, if CR doesn't see him as physically tough enough for Serie A.

Keep Tiago...buy a cb in january...qualify for c.l. buy half the world then:pint:
Definitely at least one CB in January. But Luisao might be the best one available in January... if the price is a player that our coach doesn't rate, its a good move. With Marchisio and Giovinco coming back next season, there isn't room for him long term anyway, unless he is given a chance to prove himself and succeeds in being the best in a needed position. If Ranieri wants to play the style he's been playing this season with success in the CL, it seems his next four moves will be:

-World class CB
-More youngblood at Striker (but that could very well be Giovinco)
-LWM capable of taking over for Nedved
-DM who is also a great ballmover to play with Zanetti/Nocerino.

I don't think Tiago can be that DM, and unless he can play the wing, he's really superfluous to the type of Juventus Ranieri is building. It appears Almiron is his ideal ballmover to play high, with Marchisio and Giovinco likely options.

Can't be much worse than Manuel da Public Toilet Scrubber.
da Public Toilet Scrubber is out of contract come June 30th. We could get him on a Bosman free, but I hear that Inter has already agreed personal terms and that FC Shitinacoffeecan has reported them to FIFA.

Oh, Forza Tiago. He is better than all the shit head doubters are saying.

Secco: Give Tiago Time

Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco says that the quality of Bianconeri midfielder Tiago Mendes is not in doubt and that all he requires is some time to settle.

The Portuguese midfielder was Juventus’ most expensive acquisition for the new season as the Bianconeri forked out £9.2m for the Lyon man.

Tiago was expected to provide the Juventus midfield with some much-needed power after the loss of Patrick Vieira and Emerson in 2006.

However the ex-Chelsea man has been a complete disaster in Turin and Ranieri has made it perfectly clear that he does not fancy the player by regularly picking the likes of Cristiano Zanetti and Antonio Nocerino ahead of him.

The Italian newspapers have frequently printed stories that Tiago is on his way out of Turin in January, with swap-deals including Lyon’s Karim Benzema and Benfica’s Luisao, stated as possible solutions. Secco however says that Tiago will stay and prove his worth.

“There is no debate about the quality of the player,” said Secco.

“He was a purchase acquired in accordance with the Juve technical staff. All he needs is some time.”

It remains to be seen ho much time Tiago will be given at the Stadio Olimpico before the Bianconeri cut their losses and sell him on.
