Nop.
Actually Scolari knows very well what Tiago is capable of doing & he knows his potential & he started every match for Portugal in the world Cup.
BUT,he looks at him in Juve & sees that he is always warming the bench & that he never starts for his team & so he decides not to take him & take players who start evry week for their teams.

I cantbelieve we took a world Class midfielder & turned him into this.:(

Forza Tiago
since when is Tiago a world class midfielder? don't get me wrong i think he is a good player but till now he didn't earn himself a starting spot in many people's eyes.

I know he didn't get a lot of chances but in the few chances he did get he didn't spark especially in the pre season.

I do feel for the guy but Zanetti has done a good job for us, shielding the defence - which needs all the help it can get at moment, & Nocerino has started to emerge as a player of real promise too. Tiago does deserve a run, but the last 2 games would not have been the place to start a man struggling to settle in. Roma & the derby are hard games even for players on top form & his confidence could have been made worse. After the viola & the international break we have Genoa, Napoli & Empoli, which should enable Tiago to get a decent run in the team & show what he can do.

Tiago Could Leave Juventus For Portugal

Juve misfit Tiago Mendes could be on the way out of the Stadio delle Alpi, the Portuguese international midfielder being linked with a move to Sporting or Porto...

zoom - galleria Juventus could part company with Tiago Mendes already, just months after the Turin-based club signed him for a fee of almost 13 million euros.

The Portuguese midfielder is something of an outcast at the Old Lady, having seemingly been removed from first team duty after some poor showings and injury concerns.

Neither fans nor media seem crazy about the former Braga and Benfica man, who signed on from Lyon this summer after two fine seasons in France, and as such speculation is rampant as to his future.

A return to Portugal could be on the cards, the former Chelsea stalwart being linked with Sporting and Porto, but for now he cuts a strange figure in the Juventus camp.

The bianconeri have enjoyed a fine return to Serie A, sitting second with 13 points, four behind leaders Inter, but Tiago has found himself unable to share in that success.

The 26 year old, though, has no shortage of admirers across the continent, and a loan deal could be on the cards for this experienced Portuguese international.

Ta-ta to Juve flop Tiago Sunday 7 October, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tiago Mendes continues to mystify the Juventus faithful and it’s reported he’ll move back to Portugal in January.

The former Chelsea midfielder was one of the big-name signings of the summer following promotion into Serie A, but has barely featured due to injury and poor form.

Tiago does not seem to fit in well with the rest of the squad and is considered by the Italian media to be a ‘mystery object’ without a solid mooring in their tactics.

With Antonio Nocerino, Cristiano Zanetti and Sergio Almiron doing well in midfield, there are claims Tiago could be sent back to Portugal in January.

Sporting Lisbon and Porto have both shown an interest in the international, who cost £9m to prise away from Olympique Lyonnais.

Tiago's struggling and the media has extra ink and paper lying around, that's all. Nevertheless, I would take Quaresma in a heart beat! :p Though I seriously doubt that IF Tiago is sold in January that his value will be enough for such a trade without us coughing up some extra mula.

on a side note, i notice in our primavera ranks we have a Giuseppe Giovinco & a player by the name Filippo Boniperti

How about we judge Tiago in 3 months time... @ January.
Yes you're right I'm curious to see what he's about in Porto:rolleyes:

My hope that Tiago will turn into an important first team regular is almost gone.I feel really sorry for him,he seems like a nice guy judging by his presentation on Juventus Channel, always a smile on his face.I can imagine he slightly regrets his move to Juve and he will think about a move in January if his situation doesn't improve. He just lost his place in the Portugese NT.That's the only thing Ranieri handles bad IMO.
