Frings plays as a DM or Central Midfielder but he has nothing lost in the defence
Originally Frings started as a right wing back....and I liked him on that position, back i WC2002 and werder. Im Munich,he became a DM.....an he is rather average there. But Diego...hell yeah,I was saying that few years ago when he and Robinho gone famous in Santos....

I would not count him as one. But the club seem too. They talk very highly of him and also talkof basing the team on him (according to Frings)

SO yes i think Frings, German International, Werder Star, ex Bayern etc, would be one of their "big signings".

Criscito, Salihamidzic and gygera would not fall into that category though so going by the 3 signings statement the club would be getting 2 more "Big players"

what do you think?

by the way sorry about not noticing the :faq1: sign ..

Secco talked about getting 3 big players before next season. Do you think that Frings would count as one of them ?
No, I don't think so.

i think capellos tactics made emerson look good sure .. but emerson was infact great in brazil too.

He would anchor team and this allowwed the creative players to attack

I also was not comparing Deco to Frings i was simply saying that if we want Defence buy a defensive mid .. if we want attack buy an anttacking mid (Deco)

Frings is like an inbetween player to me and does not really represent the best option to me at 7 million pounds. If we are to be strong next season i think we need to have a real strong core in the center especially seeing how attack is not getting any younger and as time passes they will contribute less to defence.

I just hope the club do the right thing.

by the way you did not sound offensive. great conversation infact. I hope you are right about Frings if we get him and you can rub my face in it when we are winning games
:D :pint:
I, as well, think that Frings would perform much better in 3-5-2. But if he plays in 4-4-2 as a lone DMF, this would depend on the contribution he gets from the other midfielders. At the end, it is a harmony between the middle four.

Also, I agree to the part in bold.

Cheers. :pint:

Well - I think that the club would count him as one of the big ones. I actually like Frings, and think he will be a good player for the club. Specially if Deschamps can make something out of him.

However we need better players if we want to wint the Scudetto. Players of Frings caliber can get us into top 4 - and CL which is first priority next season.

I still hope for another CM or LM and a super Forward (read: Klose, Toni, Huntelar)

btw - np

i think frings would count as a big name signing, he's well known and hes of world class pedigree, hes not exactly one of the big name players that is going to sell a drastic amount of shirts but he'll certainly be a big player for us on the pitch

definately, i have not seen much of him in bundesliga to judge him but i've seen him play internationally for germany and in europe and he has impressed me very much, he looks a really solid player with a nice balance of skills and one hell of a shot, it would be great to have him in the centre of our midfield, battles with him and gattuso would be very interesting

We already got one of those. It would save us alot of money if we can just hang on to him.

I have said i think there are beter but Frings oculd be our key next seaon .. or not. Time will tell

but I think of secco's 2 more big signings

One will certainly be a defender (Pepe, Barzagli, Heinze etc) and even if trez stays we may get another striker. But I feel it will be a winger (Ribery maby?)

aside from these big signings we may get players like Almiron or Mavuba (i really want him) .. i doubt the club would consider them "big signings" though, even if they are very important players

I remeber the days when "big signings" ment Buffon, Nedved, Ibra, Emerson, Vieira, Cannavaro, Baggio . those were the days :sigh:

I haven't seen much of him too, but I judge him depending on what I watched in the World Cup and some matches to Werder Bremen. But even if we count on him as a backup to another top class midfielder, that would be great.

By the way, I like that battle thing. :smoke:

well - We already signed 3 defenders... Well - It is Juventus and we'll propably get another - such as Pepe, barzaghli, heinze... I would keep Chiellini and Salihamidiz on LB,RB.

IF TREZ leaves - we'll have to get one of the big strikers (read: klose, huntelar, toni)

But isn't ribey RW - what about camoranesi - marchionni ?.... I would look for another strong CM besides Frings...

ribery can play both sides (like the left durring the world cup when Zidane was not playing)

as for Sali he can play both wings and fullback roles so he will be a great squad player and get alot of games filling in different roles.

Marchionni and Camo will duke it out for a sport on the right or maby DD will try Camo in the center more often after his great success there recently and last year too (udinese, both games man of match i think)

The club has said they are looking for a top class CB (on of the big signings) so despite signing 3 defenders (Grygera, Criscito and Sali (who is more a winger but can play everywhere) we will sign another for sure.

I think the only places we can be sure we are getting new people are Defence and Mid .. the rest depends on the transfer market and the situation regarding the players here

I don't see an immidiate need for a new winger with Camoranesi, Nedved, Marchionni and Salihamidzic in the squad. They're all high quality players.

Not to mention that we have adequate cover in Palladino and Balzaretti. Even Birindelli can do a job there if necessary.

Yeah, but Nedved is ageing, Camo is not sure to stay yet, Marchionni still hasn´t proved himself in Juventus, Salihamidzic is not a player who can make a difference (he is just a good team player) and I feel Palladino is more suited as a striker. I won´t even comment on Birindelli.

I would be delighted if we would sign Ribery.
