I really don't see the sense in signing Henry. Yeah, he's one of if not the best strikers in the world but what do we really want him for? We have positions that need strengthening but striker isn't one of them and Henry is gonna cost a shit load of money. Why spend a huge amount of cash on a player who isn't a necessity and if Capello doesn't change tactics Henry isn't going to be very effective either. He needs the ball at his feet but all Cap fuckin knows about is long balls to Zlatan. Forget about Henry and bring in a back up keeper, a right back, a centre back and a creative midfield force FFS!
Well, Henry is the best answer if we sold Zlatan.

Thanks but no thanks for the usual contribution.

If I had to play this game, I would welcome E'too, who to my mind is the type of player that might just do something really bizare like leaving Barca. In fact I am playing and I have a feeling he will be joing us in the close season!

I think Eto'o will end up in Chelsea in PL. He dont like racist audience. Both La liga and Serie A has them.

The club shouldnt be looking at forwards anyway, we have the best group of forwards compared to any team in europe. What the team needs is a new coach and a playmaker to make things click upfront and make this team play to the best they can...we have stars all over the park and yet none can play well because of capello.

Henry will want a huge wage and the club already has too many high paid players. Nedved and thuram get paid a lot of money and are nearing the end. due to their age they will be hard to sell because no other team bar chelsea of course, would want to splash out such high wages for players on a decline. Hence, with neddy, thuram, del piero and a few others, i dont know if we can afford to pay another player like henry the wage he would want.

i know some may say that wage isnt an issue but it is when a team has teh highest wages in serie A already.

Henry is a want, not a need. the club needs a playmaker, it needs to fix the defence and get better back up in midfield...

I would rather the club spent the money on Riquelme or Rosicky.

from what I've seen of Juve this year, our problem is getting the ball through the 3rd quarter of the field-in otherwards, supplying the forwards. With DP, Zlatan, Trez up front, as long as we can connect them to the midfield they will score. so what I think is we need someone like Kaka, with creativity and passing (short, not long) that could really help us. hell, even someone like Guti, who I watched against Racing the other day, would be a start, as he has the ability to produce the kind of move that gets the ball to the strikers in a good position, instead of our current tendency to hoof it up at that bloody swede.

so in other words, I hope we don't get Henry, because we have much more pressing needs.

I agree to a certain extent that EPL would suit him best. However chelsea is a club he doesnt like, especially after the fracas of last season. Despite the fact that barca has taken revenge on chelsea I dont think the matters are any good between both clubs. Mourinho has damaged chelseas reputation amongst the barca contingent therefore for me its an unlikely move. Andrei Shev or Adriano are way more likely to move to chelsea than Etoo leaving barca.

He has apparantly gone cold on Barca due to him fitting in their forward line. For Juve he is perfect with his ability to drop deep and bring the midfielders into the play. That coupled with Trez up front would make a very strong forward line for us. We would lose Ibra, Zalayeta and possible Alex. But would bring back Palladino and there is an option for Cassano too. Whatever happens there will be some big changes for next year. Prepairing today for Lo Scudetto to remain at home!! :toast: :pint: :pint: :pint:

 how true. However this thread is open because there are still rumours travelling around and also people are fascinated of us being linked with him. What I dont understand is how on earth can we ever lure henry to Juve. I admire his ability but he also has an outspoken passion for the game and certainly for a pasionate player rivalry is never far off. He doesnt like Juve, as I said earliar his spoken out against the club many times of how he dislikes them. He even persuaded Viera not to come to a club like Juve and was shell shocked when viera ignored him. He hates us thats the bottom line to it.

Henry has stated many a time his love for monaco, arsenal AND juve. When has he ever stated he dislikes juve?

Ive read his quite a few times in the english newspapers. Also prior to leaving arsenal there was a huge article both in the sun and the mirror expressing his dislike for Juve. As for Monaco yes he does love his former club nothing lost there. I also remember that prior to the arsenal game a few years ago that we had with them there was more talk about Henry's relationship with Juve than the match itself. Since then I must admit for obvious reasons its not around as much but whenever Juve has been mentioned to him his noted his dislike.

i agree that we need rocisky(requilme) and clearly we dont need henry. but i dont agree on that we have the best group of forwards.

IMO a forward nomber one job is to know how to score, Trez is the only finisher we got, DP is a good supporting forward who can produce goals magicly ( second Inter goal), but regardless of Zlatan acclaimed dribbling skills he was always (even at ajax) known that he cant shoot well and i was surprised with the number of goales he scored last season, and Zalayeta.... he used to do the Sub job good but not anymore because he doesnt play as much. and lets not forget Mutu the forward that is not a forward,

so effectively we got one finisher (Traz) and one flair player (DP) to score from the forwards.

the solution is so simple ,IMO play Mutu alongside with Trez and Juve's avarage goals per match will be 3

Henry hopes for Milan move Saturday 6 May, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While he has been primarily linked with Inter and Barcelona, there are reports that Thierry Henry has his eye on a Milan move.

The 29-year-old striker is expected to leave Arsenal in the summer, as he has not yet signed an extension to the contract that expires in June 2007.

The Champions League Finalist is the hottest property on the transfer market and is a confirmed target for both Inter patron Massimo Moratti and Barcelona.

Italian newspapers today claim Henry is looking for a return to Serie A, where he had a brief spell as a midfielder with Juventus in 1999-00, but not towards the Nerazzurri.

It’s suggested the Frenchman would prefer a switch to Milan, where he could partner Andriy Shevchenko and Kaka in a side that has been at the forefront of European football for several seasons now.

The Rossoneri have been in two of the last four Champions League Finals and reached the last eight every season since their victory in 2003.

Arsenal would release Henry for around £10m, but with Milan focusing on reinforcing their ageing defence, it remains to be seen whether the club will break its financial policy again.

Last summer was already an unusually expensive one for the San Siro outfit, who picked up Alberto Gilardino from Parma for £17m.

They have also been linked with another Premiership hitman, as Ruud Van Nistelrooy is ready to leave Manchester United

i have to say i am surprised. who would leave if henry would go to milan, sheva for money? who knows maybe milan will want a lot of money + gallas for sheva, from chelsea. i want gallas to juve though. I dont think gila will leave either. Or would henry be just a sub, there are storys about pippo leaving also. But there are also storys about crespo leaving chelsea and he wants back to italy and both milan teams want him. seems like a lot of changes might be seen in italian clubs.
