His attack is terrible. You cannot win like this, its not possible. In fact, I'd say that I prefer Allegri's counter attack style. I'm sure even that had higher xG.

This is a new level of sterility. The amount of passing backwards and to the sidelines is as if we're betting on the match.

Anyone have any idea what Motta's tactics are that the players don't like?
Well for starters, everyone has to be versatile and be ready to move and play in more than one role.

scary and dangerous situation we’re in. What do we do? Motta seemingly, does not intend to try anything different. Do we close our eyes, cross our fingers and hope this management and style of his suddenly starts working? Enough to salvage the 4th spot?

I feel his own ego is getting in the way. His desire and wish to make this 4231/272 work is just damaging by now. The levels of maturity he’s showing is disappointing. Was hoping he would be straight up more intelligent and adaptable individual. Meaning trying different solutions to problems. Like any decent problemsolver.

So I'm not sure if it's been said here

But Brambati reported that

Giuntoli asked Danilo after we started leaking goals what's not working.

Danilo basically said that he and some other players

Gatti, Dusan, Luiz and Cambiaso

Don't agree with the tactics in place or rather they don't think they are working. Motta found out about this and was not happy.

Cue Danilo being shipped off.

So who is at fault here? The players that aren't going along with Motta's ideas or Motta for stubbornly sticking to his ideas
Its easier to change a coach than a roster, so there you go. Motta is nothing out of the ordinary right now so show him the door and lets end this circus, once again.

Did you really expect to get anything from this season with an average coach and a horrible injury record, The only bright spot in Motta's coaching career is in Bologna last year and that was a fluke, Ranieri also has EPL title and UEFA Super Cup in his career but overall, he is a mediocre coach.

oh yes! I had bigger expectations from him, certainly more than what we’re seeing now. I thought what he did at Bologna was interesting, I was excited when he arrived tbh! Right here and now in time and space, 6something months after, it seems he is just not up for it. And as you say, average. I don’t know, yes he his been unlucky. A lot of the problems we have seen on the pitch has been highlighted here at tuz, and they persist game after game. What does Motta do about it, nothing, and this stresses me.

From what I understand he didn't play alot of attacking football at Bologna and it was more possession based and they didn't score alot of goals either considering how much of the possession they had.

Young coaches tend to be stubborn even conte tried different solutions and formation before settling on the 3-5-2 formation.

So Guintoli is forcing Danilo out to appease Motta because Motta is mad that Danilo was honest when Guintoli asked him what's wrong? That doesn't make any sense. Why would Guintoli go along with forcing Danilo out for being honest with him?

Also, why can the captain not tell the coach directly to his face that he doesn't think the tactics are working?
